I wasn't sure whether to put this in here or in the computer forum, but the members section gets more traffic, so I figured this might be better.

Anyway, today the U.S. Army released a first person shooter called America's Army for FREE! The graphics look good by the screen shots. Obviously the point is to show people what life in the army is like and to get people to join in. I haven't played it yet, and its a BIG game (203 MB), but it looks pretty cool. It uses the Unreal engine and you really need some horsepower and a good graphics card to play it.

The web site is www.americasarmy.com and you can go download the game right now for free. I would definitely recommend using a mirror site because it was just put online for download less than 24 hours ago.

Anyway, it sounds like the game will appeal to many audiences. Those who like shooters, anybody who has been in the service, veterans, or those who are thinking of enlisting.

I laready have it! This is a very cool game. The graphics are great and I love the "realism" factor. You have to go through many steps before you get to the action. First off (where I am at now), you have to qualify as a Marksman. I plan on getting into it more today.
