I did a wedding the other day where they used the song "Daddy's hands" for the father of the bride dance. I had to look up more from her. She worked as a DJ at WWWW in Detroit (you may recall Howard Stern also worked there) before taking up a singing career. Her first country hit came in 1985 when "Playing for keeps" went to #62 on the country charts. She charted 12 songs in the 80's on the country charts with 7 top 10 hits including one #1, "Are you ever gonna love me". She would return to #1 in 1990 with "You really had me going" In true CMA style she won the Horizon award 2 years after her career started. (I never understood that, but that's why I'm not a member of the CMA). What are your thoughts on Holly?

I didn't realize she was around in the 80s...."Daddy's Hands" is a great song! Loved it. :)

She had a song out, I can't remember the name, but it goes "When I say no, maybe I mean yes." It caused a big stink with women's groups. They were offended because of all the time it took the "No Means No" thing to kick in, for a woman to release that song was a big No No No. ;)

Another song that caused a lot of controversy (a song I liked) was supposed to be about stalking. Which, it did sound that way. I can't remember it for the life of me, but I know it was about a rich girl who went 'slumming' and now he was obsessed with her....I think it was called "What'll You Do About Me?"

Holly Dunn was an excellent singer! I loved all of her music, especially "You Really Had Me Going".
