My vote, by the way, is for Judas Priest.

I was never into the heavy, heavy metal but I did like some of Metallica's early stuff, so they received my vote! :thumb:

Maiden edges out Priest in my mind, for having a better live album and pair of studio albums in the second half of the decade (1985-89).

I would have to go with Slayer. I was immediately hooked on them during the South of Heaven album.

I just recently got into some of this kinda stuff in the last 4 years and admittedly haven't heard too much from a couple of these groups, but I go with what I'm listening to right now....Maiden...UP THE IRONS!! :banger:

Well, I don't know much about metal bands. I voted other though. I love Guns and Roses. They are considered metal right?

"Slayer" has given me more neck pains than any other bands in the 80s, so I voted for them ;)
