To say he had a good career in the 80's would be a huge understatement. With 11 #1 singles on the country charts (17 all together from 1976-1990) and two on the pop charts. I would say he is an 80's essential artist but a lot of people don't even think of his name when it comes to 80's music. He had some super songs like "Drivin' my life away", "I love a rainy night", "Step by step", "Someone could lose a heart tonight", "You and I" (With Crystal Gayle), "B-B-B-Burnin' up with love", and "The wanderer" among many many others. Are there any other Eddie fans out there?

Yes, there are. ;)

Every which way but loose
You turn me every which way but loose
Inside the fire's burnin' me
In mind you just keep turnin' me
Every which way but loose
Baby there's no excuse
To turn me every which way but loose

I also loved Two Dollars In The Jukebox, Drinkin' My Baby (Off My Mind) and You Don't Love Me Anymore.

He had a lot of great songs. There was one I can't remember too well, but I loved it at the time...something like "Can anybody use a second-hand heart, One that's already broken in?" I'm sure that's wrong, but it's been forever. LOL

My favorite still is "I Love A Rainy Night". I got hooked on that song when my mom had bought me this K-Tel album called "High Voltage". That was one of the songs on it. I still have the album to this day.

Eddie Rabbit did put out a lot of great songs and I'm sure he would've still had more hits today had he still lived.

Hey, High Voltage was my very first K-Tel recordings. To make it even better, it was on 8 track. I dang near wore it out (yes, Eddie Rabbitt rocked), until my baby nephew got a hold of it and pulled it all out...

I enjoyed listening to Eddie Rabbit... in the back of the car as my mom played his cassette in the tape deck! My mom was a big fan so I experienced his music vicariously through her, but I did learn to enjoy it! :)

I like a lot of his songs. I think my favorite is Step By Step. The lyrics are so sweet. Many, many good ones to choose from though.
