What did you think of the book the Violin? You would hang me if I gave my review.

It started out okay but then.. well it got sorta perdictable. I liked it but it wasn't one of her best. I really enjoyed when she took the Violin away from him  His total character changed from a strong man to a whimp child.
This is the first book where i stopped in the middle of it and actually put it down. It has been almost 3 months and I still haven't picked it back up.

Violin is not my favorite book by Anne Rice. I really couldn't get into the characters at all. This book along with Servant of the Bones are the only two books by Rice that I never actually finished reading...

I am glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way.

Violin was an ok book. Definitely not one of her best.

I liked Servent of the Bones though. Have a copy of it that's probably worth some money. My sister-in-law picked it up at a rumage sale. It's a copy in paperback that was sent out for reviews before the book was actually released.

Keep those books in a safe place, surf, as they will be worth money someday! I have a few signed editions from Mary Higgins Clark, John Grisham and even one signed by Stephen King in my collection! :)

I've read both Violin and Servant, I agree not her best work.

I've gotten a couple of her latest work signed at in-stores at Barnes&Nobel here in NYC. She signs them in the B&N in the Village :) or in Times Sq.

She's really nice and really short! But she's nothing short of awesome. I cant wait for her new book to come out this fall!

I have not read Violin or Servant, the last one I read was Vittorio, which I thought was great.

Not as much as you would think.:( Ms. Rice tends to do alot of book signings making her autographed copies fairly common at least for the present time.
I worked for a book store at the time The Witching Hour came out.
She did a signing in the store it also happened to be Halloween in the late night hours. As you can imagine everyone and anyone who wore black, thought they were a Goth or a vampire or undead or all of the above were standing in line for literally four blocks just to get in meet and get an autograph from her.
Some people hand lierally pages of material that they wanted her to inscribe on their books. Needless to say this didnt happen.
All the employees had books put aside and were autographed(yes, I got one and eventually sold it). It was definately intresting! The earlier books she wroteein their first editions are of course the one worth a handsome price. I fyou can find someone who is willing to part with it.

Sorry guys, my favorites don't even include the Vampire Chronicles or the Mayfair Witches. I love, The Feast of All Saints and A Cry to Heaven.

I do enjoy the others, though. :D
