I loved that show, it ruled! I own all episodes and scripts. Some wav files as well. My fave was Rick. My fave episodes were Bambi and Sick. Have any of you seen Bottom? I think it's more of a carry on of Young Ones. Rik and Adrian are great together http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//fight.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//00hahaha.gif

RICK: House! House! Ooh, you are made of stone! But you're not a lone...ly house!

My favorite episode was when they were going to play COLLEGE CHALLENGE, or whatever teh name of the game show was. They replaced all the question cards that the host had with things that they would know. My favorite "Who holds the record for the worlds stickiest boogey"
VIvian rings in and says "RICK!" and the host, in his game show host voice goes "Thaaaaaaats correct!"

That was the same one where Vivian looks out the train window and gets his head whacked off, and then has to walk around the railroad track looking for it, with blood squirting out of his neck. His head sitting there yelling at him "Over here, you stupid bastard!" and when he gets over there, he kicks the head.

What a great show! Remember the one where (Oh God I don't remember their names!) the brown-haired one was mad that their house was going to be turned down, and they were talking about going to their City Council, and he stood up & said,

Oh yeah?! I'm going to write the lead singer of Echo & the Bunnymen!

I work in an unpopular state government agency now, & the phrase springs to mind a *lot* http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif

I have every episode on tape except the one where they meet Vyvian's mom. My favorites were Bambi and (I think it was called) Cash. Neil was my favorite. I believe in the U.K. Cliff Richard went to #1 on a song with The Young Ones and I know Neil had a British hit with "Hole in my shoe". "Oh wow, I'm being harrassed by a chick on the streets"

Bambi was the one where they went to university challenge and where Vyvyan gets his head knocked off, Jazz! The episode where the house gets knocked down is Demolition. The one where they meet Vyv's mum is also where Madness plays in the pub, that's Boring, I think! I love watching Rik and Vyv bashing the crap out of each other, just as they do in BOTTOM! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//fight.gif

VYVYAN: [take card from game board] 'You have won second prize
in a beauty contest!
RICK: Ha ha ha! [prepares to roll dice]
VYVYAN: 'Smash Rick over the head with the bank!'
[Vyvyan takes money bank and hit Rick with it]
RICK: It did not say that! Michael, Vyvyan is cheating!
VYVYAN: Mike? [hands Mike the card]
MIKE: [reads] No, he's right, Rick. That's exactly what it says.
RICK: In biro, Mike! In biro over the top of the print!
VYVYAN: But we had to change the rules because Monopoly is
so boring!
RICK: [reads a card] 'Congratulations! It is your birthday! You
may set fire to Rick's bed!'
VYVYAN: Good one!
RICK: [reads another card] 'Get out of Jail free! You may keep
this card, sell it, or stick it up Rick's bottom!' VYVYAN, YOU'VE
RUINED THE GAME!
VYVYAN: I WAS BORED!

Remember when the one hampster exploded, and they showed the other one eating it, and he burps and says "He would have wanted it this way"? I was about to pass out I was laughing so hard!

I love The Young Ones! When they showed them on Comedy Central a few years ago I got them on tape since I didn't own a VCR when they were on MTV. I think one of my favorite episodes was Summer Holiday. Also liked the Nasty episode. The one where The Damned performed.

Loved them! I had to go to my best friends house because we did not get cable until nearly the 90s.

This is one show that should have had more than one series. I couldn't say who was my favourite character out of Neil, Rick and Vyvian, they were all so hilarious!

One of my favourite episodes is when Rick wakes up to find himself in bed with a woman and has no idea how she got there! And then he tries to drop the hint to his friends that he slept with a woman, but they just won't get it!

I once had the cassette Neil's Heavy Concept album. That was very funny to and i'm sure it had the song "Hole in my shoe" on it.

For those who loved Young Ones and Bottom, there was also a one off series which had Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmonson and Nigel Planer in it which came shortly after Young Ones. That was "Filthy Rich and Catflap" and that was a riot as well!

I love the Young Ones and Bottom. Rik Mayall is too funny. His role in Bottom as Richard Richard is so funny. I saw Neil from Young Ones on stage in London in the show Chicago a few years back. He is still a great actor.

This was an absolutely brilliant show, I only ever saw the first series though.

Rick and Vyvian fighting all the time was really funny.

I thought the best episode was when they held a party and Rick thought a tampon was a mouse lol.

bambi is a utter classic...i was in tears when i first watched it...loved it when vivian stomped on lord snot in university challenge

the very first one (can't remember the episode name) was also great with vivian's first appearance (through a wall, then proceeds to trash the kitchen sink)

No word yet Deb, though I've been looking feverishly! :)
I think the show is owned by a new company. I think Fox may hold the rights to the "Young Ones" now, so I guess their fate lies in that company's hands. Let's hope they release it soon!! :thumb:
