I saw this movie back in the early 80's on tv. I think it was a made for tv movie but I sotof remeber watching it in the afternoon so maybe it was an after school special thing. Anyway- it had to do with a girl who wants to be a dance but she was sortof lazy or she didn't dance that well, I'm not sure. I know she had some run-ins with this guy who I think was supposed to be the head of this dance group or something. At the end of the movie she gets her big chance to dance, I believe. I know that this is really vauge. I'm not even sure that she was definetly a dance. It might have just been a play she wanted to be in but I always remeberd it as a dance thing. i do remeber that they played "Kids in America" by Kim Wilde at the end of the movie. Any help would be greatly appreciated 'cause this has been driving me crazy for years!

Could it have been "Girls just wanna have fun?" It starred Sarah Jessica Parker, and she tries out for a dance audition?

That's what it sounds like to me, too. They showed it on Comedy Central a couple weeks ago...
