1972 Smokey Robinson performs his last show with the Miracles.

1975 Alice Cooper gets a little too enthusiastic while performing in Vancouver on his Welcome to My Nightmare tour, and falls from the stage. His nightmare now consists of six broken ribs.

1979 The Knack release "My Sharona." The Charlie Daniels Band release "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The No. 1 album in the U.S. is Supertramp's Breakfast in America.

1981 Guitarist Robert Fripp re-forms King Crimson with Bill Bruford, Adrian Belew, and Tony Levin.

1984 Van Halen release the all-time driving classic "Panama."

1984 The Reflex by Duran Duran is #1 on the US singles chart.

1984 Alison Moyet debuts solo on UK chart with "Love Resurrection".
