Mick Jagger got knighted this weekend by the Queen Of England. Here's the story:

I think this is pretty cool since I am a big Stones fan! :)

Yeah, I heard about it as well. I think it is pretty cool considering that I am also a Stones fan.
I think it is a joke that Mick should get a knighthood. Sure, the guy has done a lot for the Entertainment industry and he has had a great career, but to make him a knight makes a mockery of the whole Queen's honours tradition.
I think that a knight should be someone of "noble" character, which Mick definitely is not. He has lived a wild life with little respect for anyone. There are of course many people who think similarly, but others who think he is deserving.
Thats my opinion anyway.
And one question I have......... Since when in ancient history did a bard ever become a knight????? (Elton John, Cliff Richards, Paul McCartney???? I mean what gives?????)

I can see Sir Mick getting all spastic at his knighthood ceremony and doing a little jig like he does on stage!!!

The royal family has done a pretty good job of making a mockery of themselves, I guess they have to do stuff like get photographed with the Spice Girls and knight pop stars now in order to seem relevant. I mean, it's not likely that there will be a whole lot of freedom-saving war heroes and chivalrous dragonslayers to be honouring in this day and age....

For me, The Stones lost the plot once Brian Jones died! :(
