Hello All!

I am new to the site and was very excited to find it!

I am looking for the title/artist of a song/video that no one locally seems to be able to remember but me (I'm starting to wonder if I'm making it up).

Locally, we had an independent music video station for about 8 months in the 80's. I saw this video which featured a male duo (the artists I suppose) in various public crowd shots...subway, traffic, downtown..they were in slow-motion and the surrounding crowd was in fast-motion.

The song was techo-danceteria. Quick beat but not uplifting (lyrics or the music).

The only lyrics I can remember (vaguely at that) is the chorus which went something like this:
*****
The people livin' in the USA
are people with nothing left to ????
*****

Sorry I can't remember more!

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks,
trippin1

I do remember that the video had an escalator scene as well.

Sorry so little to go on.

I did a search and there was a song called "The People Living In The U.S.A" by someone named Randy Andy in 1983. This could be your song.

Sounds quite promising...I'll try and find out what I can about it.

Thanks so much, I'll let you know what I find!

Hi there,

There is a canadian band called The Spoons and they had a song called Romantic Traffic and the video had what you described but I don't think the lyrics have what you described.

Dunno if this helps or not.
