View Full Version : Urban Cowboy Soundtrack
ImSoooSure 6-15-02, 06:35 PM This is one of my favorite CDs. Great movie too!:) It was definately the start of one of the most popular fashion trends of the 80s. A trend most of us didn't take part in but I bet some of our parents did! :D
Oh, and here are the songs I couldn't fit in the poll if you want to vote for other.
Nine Tonight -Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet Band
All Night Long -Joe Walsh
Times Like These -Dan Fogelberg
Don't It Make You Wanna Dance -Bonnie Raitt
Orange Blossom Special/Hoedown -Gilley's "Urban Cowboy" Band
Falling In Love For The Night -The Charlie Daniels Band
Darlin' -Bonnie Raitt
Hearts Against The Wind -Linda Ronstadt/J.D. Souther
DC Rebel 6-15-02, 07:10 PM I would have to vote for The Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels.
80sTrivia 6-15-02, 07:42 PM I'm not a big fan of country music with that twang to it, so the only song on this soundtrack I could vote for is Anne Murray's "Can I Have This Dance". My grandmother was a big fan of Anne's, so her music always makes me think of her!
angeleyes25 6-15-02, 10:10 PM I voted for "Lookin' For Love"great song.
"Lookin' For Love" without a doubt!
"Look What You've Done To Me" is a close second.
P.S. I have this soundtrack too. :) Oh..... did I mention I lived down the street from Gilleys while the movie was being filmed. :D
ImSoooSure 6-16-02, 02:02 AM This is a tuff one for me. Right now it's Could I Have This Dance. Ask me tomorrow and it will be different. Looking For Love and Look What You've Done To Me are great too.
TJ that's cool that you lived right there. In Fort Worth right? I love Fort Worth. Sundance Square is so neat. One of the nicest towns I've been to.:)

No, it was in Pasadena. Right outside of Houston. Fort Worth is about 5 hours to the north. Or a 45 minute flight.
Gilleys is long gone though, it burned down over 10 years ago. :(
ImSoooSure 6-16-02, 05:26 PM Oh for some reason I was thinking it was that huge one by the Stockyards in Fortworth. That's sad about Gilleys.:(

I think that is Billy Bobs, never been there though. :) It is a well known honky tonk as well.
The Devil Went Down To Georgia -The Charlie Daniels Band
I voted for that song! Since I hear it every day here
My sister and I watch this movie together everytime it comes out.
Greenway88 6-19-02, 10:17 AM I was surprised, but I like alot of these songs. It was a tough choice but I went with The Devil Went Down to Georgia just ahead of Look What You've Done To Me and Lyin' Eyes. I also like the songs by Anne Murray and Kenny Rogers.
The Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band
I see CDB on the live Jomboree In The Hills coverage every year...the man is older, but still a great performer! :)
djdaffy1227 6-19-02, 09:54 PM I didn't know what a great soundtrack this movie had, wow! It's packed with hits! I went with "Lookin' for love" with "Cherokee fiddle" a close second. I really like Johnny Lee.
Had to go with "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" on this one.
I chose "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."
The Rednex (a Swedish group) have a cover version of their...and it's on their Farm Out album.
LOSTNTHE80S 8-26-02, 08:10 PM I like DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIS, CAN I HAVE THIS DANCE, LYIN EYES...but I had to vote for LOOKIN FOR LOVE..good movie and good soundtrack.
