I had this tape in 1985 I made off the radio. In the town I lived in we had a local college that had a new wave radio station that I taped a song off of. I lost that tape, but it had this song on it that I never heard of again. The lyrics, few as I can remember, were something like this, " Out of the closet and into the dust". Then there was another song that was a remake of "one bad apple" by the Osmonds, or the Jackson 5. I got that one taped again about 5 years ago, from someone that I worked with. I cant remember the boy who sang it. It was a blonde looking guy, it came out in about 1985.
Lastly, I have one that was in the early 90's, and it was pretty popular Afro american singer or band. I cant remember for the life of me what it was, and I only lost this new made tape a few months ago. It was something like "your the one for me" or "there is no one like you." Even if you have no clue about this song, can someone direct me to a good site that I can find what it might be? I tried Billboard.com, but they dont give much of an option (or I just didnt look hard enough). I need to have this tape remade again, or find the music for it. I am missing it so bad. I bought a new car, and put this tape in a bag that later I confused for garbage, and threw it away. I know I did, and it pisses me off so bad that I was so careless. Damn it. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi D2Girl.

I am afraid I can be no help with the tracks you are after, but maybe audiogalaxy.com might help.

Was it definately an American band from the early '90's? I can think of an English group called Londonbeat that fits the description you mentioned, though I am sure there were many more. Londonbeat had a few hits, notably "I've Been Thinking About You" ; "No Woman No Cry" . I don't recall the lines that you mentioned though. Lol, Not much help really, huh? I hope that audioglaxy will be of some help to you. Good luck.

Well... if it was 1985 then your "One Bad Apple" cover very well could be the one by Nolan Thomas. Thomas released "Yo! Little Brother" the prior year. Couldn't make much out of your other songs but I hope this one helps.

Thanks "an80snut". That is the one that I was thinking of. I knew if I heard the name I'd remember.
As for the other song, I cant believe I cant even remember the tune!! Signs of aging. I am sure I'll find it though thanks to your suggestions. :)

Could the other song possibly be "Close To You" by Maxi Priest? Just a wild guess...

In my move, I found the cover to this tape, (Not the tape though) and the song was "Happy" by Surface. Good song.

Just had to bring this back up again, because this morning I found the tape!!! I was so HAPPY!! I guess I put it in such a safe place when I was switching cars, that I couldnt even find it. Its been over a year since I've heard it. I was on my way to work, and I wanted to just keep driving so I could listen to it. :)
