View Full Version : Bobcat Goldthwaite
Greenway88 6-11-02, 11:36 AM Was this guy wacked, or what. I remember this loony guy from One Crazy Summer. His half scream/half timid style of dialogue was crazy.
Does anybody else remember this "actor" and comedian?
I saw in the TV listings that his movie Hot to Trot will be on soon. I'm guessing that it was pretty awful. (A stockbroker profits from market tips overheard in the stables by his talking horse, Don.)
Det.RicardoTubbs 6-11-02, 11:44 AM I remember him from the Police Academy movies!
He also did the voice for the stuffed bunny in "Unhappily Ever After", Fox sitcom recently. He ended marrying the foxy vixen co-star Nikki Cox.

80sTrivia 6-11-02, 12:20 PM His voice always annoyed me so. The only thing I've seen him on recently is Hollywood Squares, so you know his career is on the skids. I also recall that he got into a lot of trouble for tossing lighter fluid on a chair and catching it ablaze on the David Letterman show one night, live on television!!!
Cartoon_Chris 6-11-02, 12:24 PM Wasn't that Leno?
And he got banned from the Tonight Show as a result? He incorporated the incident into his stand-up remarking that Jay was just mad because it was the first time "Tonight Show" and "on fire" were mentioned in the same statement since Johnny left (audience ooooh's)
80sTrivia 6-11-02, 12:50 PM Yes, Yes, Yes, it was the Leno show!
He was funny in the Police Academy movies as the biker guy.
ImSoooSure 6-11-02, 06:59 PM I remember him. He was so annoying! How do people like that become famous anyway???
I can't believe that girl married him!

 Well, it gives guys like me hope thats for sure.....
He guest-starred on an early episode of ER. The funny part was you never actually saw him. He played a mentally imapaired fellow who thought he was dead, so he was laying underneath a sheet the whole episode. Once you heard his voice it was clear who it was.
I had his comedy tape "Meat Bob" in college, and despite his annoying vocalization, I thought it was pretty funny. He had a lot of good lines on that tape.
I thought of one of them recently. "I lost my job recently. Well, I didn't really lose it, I know where it is. They just have someone else doing it now." or something like that.
Cuz hey, that's me!
I love Bobcat Golthwaite. I've seen him recently on Celebrity Squares, which I watched occassionally while it was on here.
totallycait 9-08-02, 10:11 AM I always loved Bobcat. "What's the difference between a hamster and a gerbil? I'm pretty sure there's more dark meat on a hamster. Ya can't cook it in the microwave, it's a crock pot thing."
Heck, if Gilbert Gottfired is still around, then Bobcat should be too.
Femmetal 9-08-02, 10:11 PM Bobcat was in Twisted Sister's "Leader of The Pack" music video back in the 1980s too. Just a few minutes ago I saw a commercial he was in. He's the voice of a rooster in a California Cheese Council commercial. It's a really funny commercial, but wouldn't translate into typed words well...
Last fall, I think he was the voice of a rabbit in a new series (not "Unhappily..."), "Benny the Bunny" or something like that. I never watched, sounds like he was stuck in "rabbit" roles!
I remember that "ER" episode, pretty funny:)
underdog10 1-28-04, 04:40 PM I just saw Bobcat's comedy show. It was very funny. I'll also recommend a movie called "Shakes the Clown." One reviewer called it "The Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies." A must see if you like deranged humor. By the way, he isn't married to Nikki Cox (as of January 2004), they are engaged.
Ugh  I never liked this guy. IMO, his whole act is totally NOT funny. :p
I'll take George Carlin or Steven Wright - now THAT'S comedy. :D
Rhelawen 1-28-04, 06:24 PM I liked him as 'Zed' in the Police Academy movies. That's about it.
Caligula 1-28-04, 06:45 PM Could never stand him
nolanbuc 1-28-04, 08:57 PM I used to think he was hilarious in the 80's, now not so much. But then again, I drank more then.
I liked his standup of course I have a weird sense of humor. He was on an episode of CSI not that long ago.
Rhelawen 1-28-04, 10:39 PM He was on an episode of CSI not that long ago.
Ooo, I was wondering if that was him. I missed his name in the credits!
I saw him at a comedy club in Melbourne once. He was actually really funny. Pretty intelligent to, which surprised me!
BCRichRocker4JC 9-06-04, 02:51 PM My ex used to LOVE his comedy. Shows what kind of sense of humour she had. Not mine.
