Some assclown told me the result before I had a chance to shut him up, so tonights rerun of this match is partially ruined for me .... anyhoo, england beat Argentina 1-0, on a goal by Becky. This certainly makes for an interesting last round of group F. Engalnd will face Nigeria (who has nothing but the honor to pay for) and Sweden will face Argentina in a winner goes thru' match (altho' Sweden can settle for a draw, which is likely very hard against Argentina). Oh boy I think I'll call in sick on both june 11th & 12th ;)

BTW a li'l interesting fact; 1 mill viewers tuned into the USA vs. Portugal match, that's record for the US regarding football (soccer). I know I know with a population of 280+ this isn't much, but after that match I think even more will watch their match against Poland on monday. This match can put USA thru' to the knock outs ... Looks like Football may still stand a small chance of getting semi big in the US :thumb:

GO ENGLAND! Delighted to see England finally end the hoodoo that was Argentina. And sweet revenge for Becks too. The abuse and humiliation that he went throug after France 98 should never have happened.

I guess I tuned in at the right time because I saw that goal. What about the Argenitine shot off the post, DOH!

I am not delighted at all..not one bit. Beckham is evil...damn that little Spice brother and his friends Butt (not the only ass on the Man. U squad) and Scholes.

England will not beat Nigeria. I wanna see Batistuta and Freddie Ljungberg in the next round!!!

I agree on Beckham, but I would like to see England do well.

i thought beckham got a little lucky with the penalty kick...it was hard enough, but if the goalkeeper went the other way, he woulda probably saved it

i couldn't imagine england shooting themselves in the foot now, and should make the next round
argentina better pull their finger out, or they're gunna miss out...and on form, sweden looks a better bet
