This one may have already been posted but I thought it may be good for another go 'round with us newbies around...

My first attempt was in 6th grade...The girl that I had a crush on all through elementary school (who was also one of my best friends) finally agreed to go to the movie with me...It was Raiders of the Lost Ark and we agreed to meet secretly (as our parents would kill us if they knew we were trying to date that young). I borrowed $$ from a buddy to pay for her and then posted him at the door to watch for her. Unfortunately, she came to the movie late and there were no more seats so she couldn't come in...and my parents found out! That was a rather interesting scene let me tell you.

Years later we did manage to get that date in and it was very nice...she had moved to another town a couple years before so we decided that it would be just too hard to date...I regret it still!:(

I was in the seventh grade. There was this guy who I really liked and had known for a long time. He was coming to one of my youth club parties to be with me, even though he was four years older. I was so excited that I finally had a chance to see him, so I was running after him through out most of the party. I did not leave him alone all night.

I finally built up enough courage to ask him for a kiss. He willingly accepted my offer. So we kissed and I got overconfident and used my tongue. He started to laugh and made fun of me in front of everybody there. I was so embaressed.

That was my first date and first kiss. ;)

My first attempt was while I was doing an internship. I was 16, and the guy was on the staff and he was a few years older. I had this huge crush on him, and he was really friendly towards me, and there was alot of good-natured flirting, but I never had the nerve to ask him out.
One day we had a staff meeting, and I was dying of thirst and wanted a soda, but was a quarter short. He was sitting next to me, so I asked him if I could borrow a quarter. He put it on his fly, and said I could only have it if I came and got it myself. So I walked over and picked it up with my mouth. I think he got the hint that time, because I finally got to date him a little while.

I think my friend and I were both in the 8th grade..she was dating someone and they wanted to meet up at the show (back then, you had to sneak when you were that young..now days, they have "group dates" at this age) so we made up a story about us going to the show together and her boyfriend brought his friend Jimmy. We went to see KING KONG (the one with Jessica Lange) and our friends made us sit together. He tried to put his arm around me, I jumped (I was watching the show and didn't expect that at all) and spilled the soda all over him!

I can't remember the little get together's, but my first "real" date was in the early 80's, about 14 or 15. Her name was Danielle McCauley. I was living in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii at the time and we both went to Pearl City High School. We double-dated with her older sister and her boyfriend at the drive-inn. We saw "Children Of The Corn". It was a fun date, but what I remember most was cruising the cemetary after the film. I did get my first "real" kiss in the car. :)

Like most of you I had dates that my parents never knew about. My first real date was with a guy I had a crush on for a long time. We went to see a movie but I can't remember which one now. I was 15 and he was 16. (Yes Vilji, it's who you're thinking of!) He was kind of a rebel and I don't think my parents were all that fond of him. He really was pretty nice though. I just saw him for the first time in about 13 years over the holidays and totally froze. He came in my store. I really wish I had said something now. I don't know if he recognized me or not.

Man, was I a goody two shoes. And boring. And introverted, and not so smart as to be one of the "brains" but smart enough. Plus I didn't hit puberty until I was 16. The only guys I was comfortable talking with were the ones I worked with at the movie theater, so of course my first date was with one of them. He was 20 to my 17. I think we went to see a movie for our first date (and not at the theater where we worked, either). I am pretty sure it was in August - I remember how the windows frosted over when we got back to the car and how he commented that you shouldn't need to use the defrost in August. Plus this was shortly before he had to go back to college. My parents knew about the date, they even met the guy (although I don't remember if they met him before or after the date, I do remember that my dad used to drive school bus for the middle school this guy had attended).

I don't remember much about the night of our date except that I got my first kiss, and that my best friend pumped me for details the next day. I confessed that I thought it was "messy" - embarrassed as hell for being a freak, and she told me that it was the same way for her the first time she had a "real" kiss. At least I hadn't been grossed out by it!

I still think of him now and then, because we did have a lot of fun together, even if most of the time we were together was at work. He was in the local paper of my hometown a couple of years ago and that same friend sent me the clipping.

Well my first real date was at 17 if I remember right. I finally got the nerve to ask a chick out that always came into the grocery store where I worked at the time.

I saw her a number of times and finally one night I asked her if she was interested. The next week we ended up going on a date and watching Hot Shots and going out for pizza.

Being 17 and destitute, I was low on funds so it had to be a pretty cheap date. I don't remember how much I spent, but it wasn't very much. The date was just alright. I ended up staying with her for about 1 1/2 years.

Seems like a lifetime ago. Last I talked to her (about 5 years ago), she was married and has a son.

Don't really care though. Her family was pretty f--ked up.

I was 14 and I double dated with my best friend! We both were dating best friends also. :p Jeff was my date, he came to my house with flowers and a card. He met my parents and my dad gave him a nice little lecture. :) We went out to eat and to a movie. It was very sweet.

Jeff and I have remained friends to this day. :) If had been smarter, I would have married him when he asked.

THis is going to sound sad... :D
I used to roller skate EVERY weekend. My younger sister had a friend, and her brother liked me. I never met him, I used to just see him from far away, and from "far away" he looked pretty cute.
(all boys in the late '70s with feathered hair looked CUTE!)
Anyway, I somehow agreed to go on a date with him. To the skating rink of course ( I was going there anyway).

Well, his mom came and picked all of us up, and he sat next to me in the car. From up close, he did not look that cute, or what I thought he looked like. I was NOT attracted to this poor kid!
Anyway...as soon as I got to the rink, I pretty much ignored him the whole time. I went to my corner where my friends hung out, and ditched him. Then some of his friends showed up and came over and called me a "B*tch"...which of course I deserved.
Oh well...I blame it on being 13 years old, and not really knowing what I was getting myself into.

Sophomore year 81 and was asked to the Tolo dance, you know the one where the girl asks the guy. Man i totaly loved that chick til she asked me out. I was a little old fashion and didn't like the forwardness of it all. Boy would I give my right arm to experiance that nowadays.

You sound like my dad did when he found out I got a date by asking the guy out. I can't remember if it was the time I asked a guy to my homecoming dance or if it was when I asked a guy out just to go to the movies. I was so upset he didn't approve because it had taken all my nerve to ask the guy in the first place, and it wasn't like anyone was asking me out. I still remember my friend forcing me to ask this guy to the homecoming - she sat in the room with me and dialed the number, then handed me the receiver and hid the rest of the phone so I couldn't hang up. Of course the guy wasn't home and I had to leave a message!

Let me tell you, I really understood what guys went through when they asked girls out during my senior year of high school!

I was 13 years old when I had my first boyfriend. He lived in Youngstown, but originally was from Lyndhurst. (Only right down the street from Mayfield.) Anywhooo...he'd come up once a month to see his dad. He'd come over Saturday afternoon, and we'd hang out in my 'rents family room watching videos. Then, we'd "double date" with my 'rents to a movie at the theater. They'd always sit behind us so we couldn't make out.

One time, they decided they didn't want to go with us, so they dropped us off to see War Games. We didn't watch the movie at all....making out, and a LOT of...um....hand action going on!!!

I was in 7th grade and we went to a school dance. He was in 9th grade though so it made me really cool to all my friends. I got my first kiss that night too. He slipped me the tongue and I thought I was going to die of embarrassment since we were slow dancing at the time and a teacher came and broke us apart. But I had a lot of fun.

And like...well I knew his intentions so I figured I'd get a good time out of it..and show him that he needs to treat girls w/ respect lol. So we're driving to Micky-D's..yes I know..how romantic can you get! Nothing like nasty public bathrooms and greezy food to set the mood for love ;) . Anyway...so like we're sittin there..and he leans over to kiss me ...I'm like yeah ok...but he just got me on the cheek. And then like he practically lays on me in the middle of Micky-D's tryin to kiss me for real this time lol. I was eating a fry at the time..and well it ended up his NOSE LOL! Like his sister saw us and she told all of his friends how I pushed him away and stuff...so I guess now he's not such the stud lol! Needless to say he didn't ask me out again..like I would've said yes...and my other dates were much more entertaining lol! ~Tj

This is sad but I didnt' go on many dates with guys I wasn't really interested
The only date I went to was with my ex husband. We were escorted by the man that raised me and his wife. We went to Huntington to see a movie. Ofcourse we sat by ourselves but they were close enough to watch us. The movie was Legend staring Tom Cruise. After that we went out to eat at a expensive restaurant. He was so cute he had to work for two weeks to save up the money. That night I fell in love with him because he treated me like a queen I knew one day I was going to marry this man. And I did

I have probably told this story before, so anyone who's seen it before, lucky you :p :D

It was my 15th birthday, (1990, I know, late bloomer) and it was prom night. I, being a freshman, had no prom date, but my friend's older sister was having an "anti-prom" party at their house. All the boys I really liked were going... most of them were juniors & seniors. (Aim high, that was my motto in h/s, LOL.) It was a great party, I'm so glad I brought my camera. I still have a good time laughing over the pictures.

About 10:00 or so, we all decided to go bowling. A junior I had particularly had my eye on all year asked if I wanted a ride to the bowling alley in his truck. (room for 2 only! :D ) I tried not to sound too excited. The ride there and the bowling went okay-- some major flirting but no real funny business.

I was supposed to be home at midnight, so he offered to take me home, too. There was a McDonald's across the street, and we decided we were hungry, so we went through the drive-in. My 'date' had just gotten his license, maybe 2 weeks before... he had no clue how to go through the drive-in! He parked way too far from the window, and he had to get out and reach up to get our milkshakes. He was too short to reach the window. (5'4", I was 5'6") Finally he had to go inside. I was trying so hard not to bust out laughing the whole time, because I did like him and I didn't want to mess things up for our possible "future." (ha!! but anyway...)

He kissed me in the driveway, but it wasn't particularly exciting... I think he was still too embarrassed about the drive-in window to be too bold. I was an hour and a half late getting home, and I got my butt grounded for 2 weeks. When he found out I was grounded for being out too late with him, he thought it was so sweet, and asked me out again. Boys!!

He went to Europe that summer, so I didn't see him much, but I got a lot of air mail letters, which made me feel so special until I got back to school and found out that all the other girls in our group of friends had them too! I should have let that be my warning. ;) It all ended in tears, October or November of sophomore year.

I saw the guy in Bar Harbor 3 or 4 years ago, I was shopping with my mother-in-law! I don't think he recognized me, but my mother-in-law and I had a good time laughing about it in the car on the way home. It wasn't a disastrous "first date," but it was definitely overshadowed by later boyfriends.

I was asked out for my first date! WHOO HOOOO! I was in 9th grade, and Jen Schwieber asked me out on a date. I was all pumped because she had short curly hair, and big lips, looked like Kelly Lebrock! WHOO HOOO! SHe sat behind me in English class, and one day I turned around to talk to another friend and she was all staring at me. So, I just said HI. Next day I turn around and shes got no panties on, and a nice skirt. SHe flashed me a little! WHOOO HOOOO!

We went to see NIGHT OF THE COMET at a second run theater, and it was TERRIBLE, so we held hands (I hadnt really kissed any girls at this juncture) and then I went home. Never asked her out again! (WHAT A MAROON!)

I guess the first so-called date I had was in the eighth grade. I had a crush on this ninth grader I was working with at this amusement park. His name was Sam and come to find out the feeling was mutual with him. He invited me to his homecoming dance at his high school. He lived 20 miles away and my parents drove me to the dance. We got to dance and I met lots of his friends. At the end of the night, I got a small kiss. I was on cloud nine! :)

I can't remember how old I was. I'm thinking 14. He was the best friend of a guy I had "gone with". He asked me to a movie. We went to see "Critters". I was so silly, he had to almost shove me aside to open the door for me. (I have since learned to slow down lol@me!) He had his Dad drive us to the movie, and he sat in the front seat with his Dad and I sat in the back. The most warm and tender memories I have from those days are sitting in his house just being (though I didn't tell him, nor did I go there often). I remember the name his Daddy had for him was "pissant" God that family was hilarious and amazing.
