View Full Version : Random Thoughts...
outofplacechild 5-22-02, 10:26 PM When you have a job like mine, you have a lot of time to think since you're often working alone. Here are some random thoughts that have been in my mind while I've been working my job and while I've been home thinking about work these past few weeks:
1.) My job is great. The people are kind, and my first paycheck comes tomorrow.
2.) Mentally unstable women appear to be attracted to me. For example, one of my co-workers talks ghetto and keyed an abusive boyfriend's car, and now she's trying to get with me, despite the fact that she's with someone. Actually...
3.) I should correct that. The guy she's with, but not dating, wants me to go out with her. I don't want to, though.
4.) I've been friends with several mentally unstable people (a few classmates, my first girlfriend and the daughter of a recovering alcoholic and a Vietnam vet). Luckily, I'm still alive.
5.) A different insturmental plays in my head every week. Last week, it was "Eddie's Theme" from the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" soundtrack...this week, it's "Chase" from the "Midnight Express" soundtrack.
6.) I'm looking forward to the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Special Edition DVD.
7.) Courtney Love scares me. She just seems a little too abrasive.
8.) I could use a drink right now.
9.) It's hard to ignore something you don't like. All the radio signals that float through the air end up in our brains, which are the conductors for the sights and sounds in our minds. If you're trying to escape hearing a certain song, your mind will pick up the signal of a radio station or CD player that is playing that song. If you fear a certain famous person, a TV or a computer screen will deliver a picture of that person to your brain (even if the person you fear is Rip Taylor).
10.) God, will they stop playing that new Eminem song? It's only been out a week and I hate it.
11.) I'm concerned for Drew Barrymore. Does she still drink?
12.) Turner Classic Movies pumps my nads. Seriously, it's a great station. AMC blows.
There you go...these are the kinds of things that float through my mind every day. What do you think about when you work?
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff
Oh my God, John.. you are seriously f**ked up, dude!
Just teasing ya ;)
Holy crap! I just noticed I was in your sig! I'm not sure I need a stalker yet... but I'll keep you informed ;)
And I'm sick of the new Eminem song, too!
I hate it when I have a million thoughts at work and then I am helping a customer and I just zone out... lol...
You have a lot on your mind when you are working, John. I wish they would stop playing that Eminem song too. I can't stand the guy.
I saw that I am in your signature. That is very sweet of you. Let me know when you have a screenplay ready for me. ;) :)
iconoclast 5-23-02, 12:58 AM I like Eminem. I've seen the video on MTV once, but it's not getting radio airtime in Iowa yet. Of course, our local stations still play GNR and Poison regularly.

 This happens to me all the time! A customer today was looking at our watches and I was putting a display out on the floor, really into my own thoughts. Somehow, I dont really remember how, I asked her if she wanted me to get the key to the watch case so she could look at some. She said yes and I just went about with my display. A bit later it hit me that I had asked her that and I wasnt paying attention to her answer! Jeeze, I'm bad sometimes. Luckily she was still there and very nice. :)
...at work I usually think about work. I'm pretty busy every second. If I'm doing one work thing I'm still usually thinking about another work related topic. I try to take a 15 min lunch break and come in here. It doesn't always work though.
OPC, you are one of a kind! ;)
I am with you on that Eminem song :yucky:

THIS is a bad thing? :p lol

I have done the same thing, Lisa! LOL While at work I try to stay in the 'work mode' Especially so while I am doing a haircut. :) I almost never talk during a cut. It breaks my concentration. :)
sketcher 5-23-02, 09:26 AM >>1.) My job is great. The people are kind, and my first paycheck comes tomorrow.
Great! :)
>>3.) I should correct that. The guy she's with, but not dating, wants me to go out with her. I don't want to, though.
Then don't. If you don't want to, it's better that way. Mentally unstable people bring you down anyway. So far you have a good job. Don't spoil it with a bad girlfriend/fling.
>>4.) I've been friends with several mentally unstable people (a few classmates, my first girlfriend and the daughter of a recovering alcoholic and a Vietnam vet). Luckily, I'm still alive.
And that's a good thing :)
>>5.) A different insturmental plays in my head every week. Last week, it was "Eddie's Theme" from the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" soundtrack...this week, it's "Chase" from the "Midnight Express" soundtrack.
It could be worse. I have the Miami Vice theme in mine
>>6.) I'm looking forward to the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Special Edition DVD.
Hey is there a soundtrack?
>>7.) Courtney Love scares me. She just seems a little too abrasive.
Then don't date her ;)
>>8.) I could use a drink right now.
I'll have rum and coke please.

The pitfalls of marketing. And they say we're not in a communist state ;) Unfortunatley, I hate 90% of what's on the radio and I've managed to brush it off with mumbles in my head. I mean really, R&B and gangsta rap is considered music??
>>10.) God, will they stop playing that new Eminem song? It's only been out a week and I hate it.
I think Eminem's purpose on this planet is to help the music industry put out really, really bad music.
>>11.) I'm concerned for Drew Barrymore. Does she still drink?
Well, if she does, she's got the money to check into Betty Ford and get help.
>>12.) Turner Classic Movies pumps my nads. Seriously, it's a great station. AMC blows.
Do I have nads too? Would they need pumping? ;)
I get random thoughts at work too. All day, every day. My thoughts go from planning a weekend trip to this board to thinking about last night to thinking about tonight and thinking about the next night.
*WARNING - This is a joke John! Do not get upset!*
John my man....every hear of Zoloft?

Pagan, you are too much!
John, I have thoughts like these sometimes, usually when I've had caffeine after 8:00 p.m. and I can't go to sleep. :vibrator:

Turner Classics is awesome, OPC:thumb: AMC has some good movies once in awhile, but I usually don't watch it because of all of the commercials, where TCM has no commercials.
Ted Nugent 5-23-02, 03:09 PM I am a magnate for the mentally unstable. :p They're the most interesting people though. :D I guess I like them so much because, everyone on my father's side has a mental illness and some on my mothers. :goofy:
Don't worry OPC..... I have thoughts like those.........
BUT only on Thursdays! http://www.jordysworld.de/emoticons/div21.gif LOL!!
