1955 Stan Lynch, who went from drumming with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to producing Don Henley, is born in Gainesville, Fla.

1961 Tim Lever of Dead Or Alive is born on this date.

1963 Little Stevie Wonder records his second album, The 12 Year Old Genius, live at Chicago's Regal Theatre. He actually turned 13 a few days ago. The album contains his first hit, the raucous "Fingertips, Part Two."

1976 The Rolling Stones begin a six-night stand at London's Earls Court. Reviews of the show are the first to describe the band as "dinosaurs."

1979 Elton John becomes the first Western pop star to tour the USSR, kicking off several concerts in Leningrad today.

1980 A fight breaks out between the Clash and the audience at a gig in Hamburg. Joe Strummer dispatches one fan with his guitar. He's later arrested. Bob Dylan plays the last of his gospel shows in Dayton, Ohio. A second date there was canceled due to poor ticket sales.

1983 Michael McDonald marries the singer Amy Holland.

1988 Cheap Trick return to the top 40 with "The Flame."

What term are they using to describe the Stones now... Fossils? Redwood trees? Petrified mummies? :lol:

:lol: Really, that was in 1976! Who knows what you call them 26 years after that. Petrified Mummies is nice 80strivia!:p

I can not believe that they are going on tour again. It must be the only thing that keeps them alive.

I guess i'm the only one that likes the Stones. :( I really wish I could see them live, but the tickets are ridiculous pricewise. Hey, I know they are senior citizens now, but they still rock! I kinda admire them for being able to do that at their age.
