Nope. 80sxchange.com is not going through a breakdown. The closing of the Moderator forum is simply a security issue. No big deal. We don't need it. It was simply a perk for the mods. We still talk in private messages when we need to. :)

Hmm, I think this is a 1st, but I don't agree with you, Sal. I think the Mods forum was very important to us Mods, a bit more than just a perk. Well at least for me it was, and I can safely guess for some of the rest too. I'll deal if its final, but I really, really wish that you'll reconsider the action taken Sal. Please? :)

Daffy, TJ... everyone thinks they know, as do I. Nothing is 100%or at least I don't know. But like you, I can make an educated guess on what's up.

Well, I will just add all of the mods to my buddy list, and click on everybody when I need to have one of those "mods forum" discussions.

I know of things in the past. I thought they found out who that was. As of late, I have NO idea what has happened!

Therefore I just won't let it bug me. Guess I'm not meant to know.

The Mod forum will be back up shortly.. There's just a lot of wierd things going on lately and I don't have time to deal with them just yet. I have a new business starting in two weeks with radio commercials hitting the air on June 3rd - with a website that doesn't work. On 80sxchange, we have long-time, well-liked members leaving because they're not enjoying their time because of trouble-makers.

This will all be sorted out shortly. This is just the kind of thing that happens when you've got so many people sharing such a small place. If we had 20 people posting consistantly, we wouldn't be here. But since we've got so many people interacting, things are getting a big messy. I haven't figured out how to deal with that yet. When I do, there will be much less trouble.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the problems we're having here, please speak up. Currently, my idea is to have a jury. I'm not sure how to pick the jury but it would have to be unbiased long-time members. When it comes down to somebody leaving because of somebody else, maybe we vote on who stays and who goes.

Who knows...

Well, I am all for having a MOD forum. I think it helps us keep aware of what is going on, and people to watch for (ala blackgoat, hamish, etc etc). We did become a LOT cliqueish in there. TInajo and myself had a few go rounds along with some other minor disagreements. But, in the end, we all realise that this is a place we come for fun. Not to put up with extrenuous BS. One thing you can always count on from me Sal, is an honest opinion. I dont have any "agendas" or personal vendettas. If I think you are wrong, but you are a friend, I will still call you on it. If we all were able to keep that same mind set, things would be a whole lot better. (Not that it isnt great around, but thier is always room for improvement) I think we should bring back the Mod Forum. I think if thier is a problem with a member, or even a Mod, then we, as mods should handle it as a group. You entrusted us to keep the boards running smoothly. Some of us are more active than others, but we should all have an equal say. This is how I would propose we solve issues in the future:

Call a "all mods meeting" and post what we KNOW TO BE TRUE about whomever the problem is with.

Give us a poll, like any other poll, about what we should do.

Have everybody VOTE, but nobody COMMENT.

After each Mod has a chance to vote, the majority rules. No questions asked.

Each mod has one vote, no matter how many forums they moderate, so everybodies opinion carries the same wieght.

YOu would not have to pick a jury.
YOu would get a fair, complete picture of what everybody who is a mod, truely feels.
We could solve disputes quickly and easily.

Thats just MY opinion.

Being a non moderator, I actually think the mod forum is a good idea. It's good to know that there are people in there trying to sort out problems. All though I guess it's another issue all together if the moderators are having trouble amongst themselves! :lol:

But I won't make any assumptions as to what the problems are. :)

Wow...a bunch of stuff going down this week...

Now, I'm curious about something. What if it comes down to the Mod being the problem? Do they get the same treatment as the rest of us members?

I haven't had any severe problems with any Mod, actually, my mind just works overtime...and I guess I'd like to feel that ALL members are equally important to this site, and someone is not going to get special treatment because they moderate a forum. I guess I'm just looking out for us 'little guys'....

I have not been able to get into the "love Lounge" since you made all the changes to the site. I thought I had been kicked out for some reason? It does not even show up on my screen!

Did you have access back when we were at UBB? I totally forget...I tried to get everyone who posted in there access back.
