There is someone who's voice grates on your nerves. You love their songs, in a way, but you just know deep in your bones that another artist could have done them better.....

Who are those people for you?

Mine are:
Allison Kraus....she sounds like Mickey Mouse to me
Randy Travis....I cannot say 'change the station' fast enough
Dwight Yoakam....Ugh!! Sing from the diaphram, not the nose! Something!! Gimme a break!!

I'm sure I'll think of more later.....:lol:

I like some of Aaron Tippin's songs, and a couple of Reba's...otherwise, I agree. There are two or three Randy Travis songs I like, but I think they'd be sung better by someone else.

I think Reba McEntire's music is totally overrated...especially when she does that darn hick warble.

I'm sorry if I sound mad, but it's just that so many people make fun of me at school for liking Reba that whenever people insult her it gets me mad.

Alison Kraus is someone I have been listening to some, since my friend is crazy about her. I really like most of the songs, but her voice is making me insane. Apart from her, I really like the voices of most country singers today.

Ricky Skaggs! Annoying in so many other ways than just his voice!

Randy Travis has a unique voice, but I wouldn't say it was annoying or Alison Krauss for that matter, just my opinion. :)

Dwight Yoakum bugs the bejeezus out of me. Allison Kraus??? Man, I absolutely love her voice. I like to sit and listen to her with my eyes closed and veg out! To each their own however...

Hmmm, this is a simple one for me to answer.

I can't stand Leann Whines, I think the "Original" Artists whose songs she Ruined did a better job... :barf:

And I'd like to add that the Dixie Chickens aren't any better, I think ANY Artist could do thier songs better :barf: (Gods forbid Leann gets a hold of them though :yucky: )

Well I had to go with Willy Nelson. I can't stand his voice. But then again, if anyone else had done his songs would they be quite the same? Remakes of his songs certainly aren't.

Reba annoys me too, not so much her singing, but I really can't stand to hear her talk. I just want to shake the "hick" out of her.
Dolly Parton's voice grates on me when she's trying to be a popstar.

I like the Dixie Chicks, even the ugly one. Their sound is unique and not fake, like most of today's country music.
Ricky Skaggs and Alison Krauss are BLUEGRASS artists, a genre superior IMHO to country. Alison's voice is simply made for Bluegrass/Old time music. It is beautiful in that context. Ricky Skaggs instrumental talent makes up for his vocal shortcomings.

I have to agree with Buc on one point...on VH1 Country, I saw a video by Allison Kraus and Union Station called "Let Me Touch you For A While." It was actually very good, and catchy. And boy has she lost some weight!! (Go, girl!!!)

So, I guess I'm saying....sing your own stuff, Allison! :D
