It's too bad all her original 80's albums are not rereleased on CD, but for now this will have to do.
Nothing beat's her original 1984 song that was the album's theme title.
I went with the best song of the bunch, the melodic "Saturday Love" good song! :thumb:
Greenway88 5-06-02, 12:55 PM Saturday Love is a great song.
Mr. Badd 5-06-02, 02:27 PM Saturday love is her best, but I didn't mean to turn you on is close.

Especially since it beats Robert Palmer's version! :D
Mr. Badd 5-06-02, 07:30 PM Yeah, by about 20 million miles!;)
Prefab Sprouter 5-09-02, 05:03 AM I'm a big fan of Alex O'Neal so "Saturday Love" gets my vote! Cherelle is a wonderful singer, good poll Steve!

Cherrelle's was the fun loving, dancable version.
Palmer's was dark and gloomy. And his video... him in front with the dancing girls in the back. He took the fun out of that song.
I voted for Saturday Love. Good song.
80sTrivia 5-28-02, 07:23 PM I have to admit, I did like Cherelle's version of "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" a little better than the Robert Palmer version, so it received my vote!!! :)

That's probably the only song I know, so I chose it.
Mariah Carey covered "I Didn't Mean to Turn You on" for her doomed "Glitter" album.
Which sounds almost identical to the Cherrelle version, so that's why I voted for that song!
I voted for "Will You Satisfy?" because I knew that "Saturday Love" would get most of the hits. Anyhoo, whatever happened to "Never Knew Love like This?" Didn't Cherrelle collaborate on S.O.S. Band's "The Finest", too? I always mix up who worked on who's album --Alex O'neal with Cherrelle, Herb Alpert with Lisa Keith-- even though I could check this out. And the story goes that Prince once said that Alex, who used to be in Prince's band, couldn't sing! Baloney!
DJ Midas 3-21-04, 10:11 AM I went with "Saturday Love" for substance. Her version of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" is better that Robert Palmer's IMO.
djdaffy1227 3-21-04, 11:12 AM I can't believe I never voted on this before. I love Cherrelle. I went with "I didn't mean to turn you on". Her version is MUCH better than the Robert Palmer version!
I can't believe I did'nt either. I voted for "Didn't mean to turn you on" still a #1 Jam. The girl was bad. (Meaning Good)
Prefab Sprouter 3-23-04, 04:23 AM Anyone know if she's recorded anything of note recently????
had to go with "saturday love" myself- oh ya
Tanya1976 11-12-04, 12:18 AM I voted for Saturday Love (classic!). My second vote for I didn't mean to turn you on!
whistledog 12-01-04, 10:53 PM I Didn't Mean to Turn You On is a classic :thumb:
