This is mostly of local interest only, but i just had to post it. Tonight I watched my hometown hockey team, the Memphis RiverKings, win the Central Hockey League Championship over the Austin IceBats! Congrats, Kings!

2002 CHL Champs!

Congrats RIVERKINGS! I saw two games at the Desoto CIvic Center this winter. BEAUTIFUL place to watch a game. Parsons used to play in Norfolk, where I worked at the arena, but only stayed a few games.
THey played great when I saw them, probably the 2nd best Minor league team I have ever seen.

Thanks, Jasper. Don Parsons is DA MAN! League MVP and Playoff MVP. I don't know why he hasn't been called up to the AHL or NHL, but I'm not complaining!
It's hard to believe this team only won 9 games in the 1999-2000 season. :eek: Next time you're down during hockey season, we'll have to catch a game together.

NOt a problem! I think Parsons basically pissed off some pesonell people around the AHL, that has to be the explanation. He left Norfolk pretty quickly, and John Brophy, the best minor league coach ever, is a great eye for talent. So, he had to have some kind of personal baggage!
