Cookies aren't stored if you use Outlook Express, are they? I never check web based for my accounts with them. I always kill my cookies immediately too anyway...

To my knowledge, no email program uses cookies. I don't use Outlook at all (I quit using it when I found out it is WAY proprietary... try exporting your messages!). I have never seen a cookie setting in Outlook, Eudora, Pegasus, Netscape mail, etc.
If you don't want to use cookies, just disable them. They don't bother me enough to get rid of them.
No, Roem. I can think of no mail software that uses cookies. You're okay.
OK, my husband has a hotmail account, set up through Outlook Express....here are my questions:
1. Since no one but my husband, my son and myself have access to this computer, how worried do I need to be?
2. I delete my offline files and clear my history before I shut down at night (well, morning. :D) so will that help?
3. What possible reason would someone have to read a boring e-mail from one of my husband's relatives? Is there something they can do with this info?
Hey, Val.
1. No, I wouldn't worry to much about this at home. It would be more of a concern if you checked your Hotmail account from a work computer.
2. Clearing your cache and cookies always helps. I do so fanatically. Just can't stand the thought of someone tracking my surfing habits. Not that I am hiding anything...
3. This is a hard one to answer. Some people are just demented and the thought of having access to another's private life might seem to be a thrill. That's usually because they don't have a life of their own! What could they do with this information? Well, they could at the very least have the e-mail addresses of everyone in your address book and any stored e-mails.
Hope that answers your questions. :)
