My friend will be having an 80s party next Saturday where (we hope) everyone will dress up in 80s style (it should be a scream!).

So far we came up with the idea of playing records (and some mp3s) to keep to the '80s sate of mind'.

Does anyone have ideas they can suggest for the party? Food, activities, decorations, whatever?

Wow, that sounds really cool. My school threw an 80's dance for the 7th and 8th graders, but I was only in 7th grade and I wasn't really in to the 80's yet. (And how that would change two or so years later! ) I remember they had slogans from the 80's (Where's the beef, etc) on the wall printed out in cool colorful fonts and lots of loud colorful stuff. You could also put up photos or posters of 80's stars....I remember there were 80's movie posters up on the walls (ET, Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller, all the classics) and you could put up pictures of 80's bands/singers. Have a great time! :D :thumb:

Maybe even hire a band? If you have the room of course, that might be fun. :)

Oh, and I am not invited again?

Why not do a competition for the best 80s look outfit?

On my 80s party i forced everyone to drink a pink welcome cocktail through a twisted straw.

Decorations? Disco Ball, Rubics Cubes, Pacman on a PC, 80s quizzes ,...

Food? I don't think we ate different back then. Maybe you could go to that candy retro store, they have a lot of stuff kids back in the 80s loved. On my party everyone got those candy necklaces.
