The Montreal Expo's just took 2 out of 3 from the Cubs and 3 out of 4 from the high priced Mets. I know most of you think this should be in the comedy Forum but i'm going all out and predicting the Expo's will make it to post season this year, their final year in existance. The team has so far been an offensive jaugarnaut with the low priced young homegrown talent that are finally coming of age. Lets see who laughing in October when Les Expo's are still playing (probably in front of crowds of 4000)

All Hail Caligula! I think most baseball people are pulling for the Expos. The ones in Montreal not the ones in the 80sxchange league.

In the year 2000 the Expos had the fourth-best record in all the majors as late as June, but finished 67-95.
Their ballpark is horrible (I've been there, it sucks) and their ownership was scum, but lack of attendance just finished the job. When contraction was announced last year, it was a much bigger deal in Minnesota than Montreal. I can't see it getting any better in Montreal even if MLB did get its act together on the sport's general financial mess.

That would be an embarrasment to a sport that needs no help in that area. I'm not knocking the Expos or the city of Montreal, but if the sort of attendance that Olympic Stadium usually draws is carried over into the postseason, I'd say move the team before the season ends. The Expos are a good club in spite of themselves. It is a shame that the fans won't come out and support the players who are playing their hearts out for an empty stadium.
And another thing, don't read too much into the Expos beating my Cubbies, the Northsiders are in their full last-place form again this year. Man, do they suck.

I thought only Cardinal fans were allowed to live in your part of the country?

I can't fault you for holding that common misconception. Being that our local AAA team (whom I support) is a farm club for St. Louis, there are quite a few Card fans in these parts. Add those to the Braves fans we have, and you have about 90% of all baseball fans in this area. However, after I visited Chicago & Wrigley in 1986, I started watching Cubs games on WGN and got hooked. It is a lonely vigil sometimes, but I keep the faith :D. About the only thing that would pry me away from the "Loveable Losers" is if MLB moves the Expos to Memphis. Why the heck not? We've already got one Canadian pro sports team. ;). We could even keep that weird "M" logo that looks like "elb"

Even though I pull for the Braves, seeing the Expos and the Twins in the World Series would really make my year. Anything that would make Bud Selig look stupid(not a hard thing to do though, he does it on his own) is a pleasure to me. How much longer can they keep it up? Vlad has been Vlad and Bruce Chen is showing the stuff that made him such a highly touted prospect in the Braves system. To top that off, Michael Barrett of all people has been an hitting machine. They've got a good balance going now. IF they can keep this up, it's going to be another team in the mix which will already be a wild race this year.
