I was just looking at legwarmers on a site reccommended by a new poster in 80sculture and I came across a commentary on 'The Wedding Singer' http://www.1980-89.com/music/wedding-singer.html .

so the question must be asked. Does it matter that the music and lets face it Drew Barrymore's entire look was not alway accurate? For the music part - the weddings I have been too sing tons of stuff and my own 80s experience did include a lot of trickle down 70s music influences because of older cousins, friends siblings etc. I didn't experience or begin to appreciate Led Zepplin until at least 1983 but its from the 70s. So Does the 80s have to be strictly 80s? HMMM http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif

No I don't see the song selection as a problem at all. I don't see it as a 'flaw' like they called it on the site. Who cares that they weren't fresh-out-of-the-studio songs from 1985 - they sum up the era & people can relate to them as being general 80's songs. I don't see why they have to be so technical
I think they're a great selection for a 80's theme soundtrack - I bought both volumes even though I have all the songs on other compilation albums - it's just a groovie bunch of songs!
