I liked Juice's better because it was more 80's and more polished.

View Full Version : It's a heartache Steve Savicki 4-17-02, 05:30 PM I liked Juice's better because it was more 80's and more polished. Trixter 4-17-02, 06:13 PM I think Bonnie Tyler's version is far superior, because it isn't polished! It's more raw and gritty which in turn adds to the feelings she trying to convey in the lyrics. :) Iluvthe80s 4-17-02, 06:19 PM I have only heard Bonnie Tyler's version. I never realized there was another version. angeleyes25 4-17-02, 06:52 PM Originally posted by Iluvthe80s I have only heard Bonnie Tyler's version. I never realized there was another version. Neither did I. LOSTNTHE80S 4-17-02, 07:59 PM Actually...I didn't even know that Juice Newton had a version of this. I voted for Bonnie Tyler...she has that "whisky" voice thing going on which I just love! Like Rod Stewart, Peter Criss, Bryan Adams, Tina Turner, etc..... 80sTrivia 4-17-02, 08:10 PM I voted for the Bonnie Tyler version. I've always liked Juice Newton, but, as I said in Steve's other Bonnie Tyler poll in the Top 40 forum, I've always found Bonnie's gravelly voice to be sexy!!! :) Steve Savicki 4-18-02, 08:36 AM Actually, it's been awhile since I've heard both so I really couldn't make a fair comparison at this point in time. My memory tells me Juice's was in the 80's so it probably had more of that 80's keyboard/synthesizer effect. That probably lead to my decision although I could be wrong. Steve: Juice Newton and synthesizers?????? Something wrong with that picture. Steve Savicki 4-18-02, 11:48 AM Originally posted by Greenway88 Steve: Juice Newton and synthesizers?????? Something wrong with that picture. It's the truth. Opens up with keyboards on her 1983 album "Dirty Looks". djdaffy1227 4-18-02, 11:59 AM I like both versions but there is something about Bonnie Tyler's voice that I love. I may be wrong but I thought Juice Newton wrote the song ??? Therrall 6-06-02, 07:47 PM I voted for Bonnie Tyler, I Love her voice, and I didn't even know that Juice made an attempt at covering this song :yucky: Recker 6-06-02, 08:07 PM Bonnie Tyler by default. It's the only version I know. But seeing as we're on the subject, I actually hated Tyler's voice. Too raspy for my liking, but she did have some good songs. Pippi 6-07-02, 03:38 AM I voted for the Bonnie Tyler versions too. Prefab Sprouter 6-20-02, 06:26 AM Never liked Bonnie Tyler. Go Juice! ImSoooSure 6-28-02, 01:31 AM I have to go with Juice Newton on this one.:) ElectricYouth 7-09-02, 07:49 PM Definitely Bonnie Tyler. I love all of her music. Sarg 7-09-02, 08:39 PM I had a hard time voting on one of these choices because I really like both versions of 'It's A Heartbreak." Juice Newton, though a country artist made more noise and was more popular on the pop charts than she was on the country charts. Her first three albums albums as a solo artist were more pop oriented. Bonnie Tyler had a great sound with that raspy voice of hers that put an edgier sound quality in her songs. I finally voted for Juice Newton because I'm a lot more familiar with her music and style. Jasper 2-12-04, 01:41 AM Bonnie Tylers version I also prefer her version of STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART over Bryan Adams. JS 2-12-04, 01:52 AM I chose Bonnie Tyler's version. I don't think I've ever heard Juice Newton's version. |
