If you recognize them, check them off. You can post your favorites in your replies. Recker 4-16-02, 08:20 AM Just the Two of Us Greatest American Hero Those are the only ones on that list I recognise! Grover Washington Jnr was certainly a great musician. 80sTrivia 4-16-02, 08:43 AM I recognized most of those songs listed, in particular the songs by Grover Washington, Terri Gibbs, Joey Scarbourough and Roseanne Cash. Trixter 4-16-02, 09:27 AM I knew quite a bit of them except for Lee Ritenour and Balance. Terri Gibbs and Roseanne Cash were my favorites though! :thumb: abcmcd 4-16-02, 01:22 PM I recognize "Just the Two of Us", "Greatest American Hero" theme, "Somebody's Knockin'" and "Breaking Away". A few of the other songs I recognize the name, but couldn't tell you how the song goes so I didn't check them. scott28883 4-16-02, 01:52 PM I only recognize Yarbrough and People, Grover Washington and Joey Scarbourough by the titles of the song. I probably would remember more if I heard the song. Steve Savicki 4-16-02, 03:51 PM Grover Washington Jr - Just The Two Of Us 6 26.09% & Dottie West - What Are We Doin' In Love And Dottie was not a 1 hit wonder... she has lots of greatest hits (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1808362464/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=WEST*DOTTIE). LOSTNTHE80S 4-16-02, 04:03 PM I checked all but three. djdaffy1227 4-16-02, 04:49 PM Ooh, ooh, I knew them all :D My favorite is "Together" by Tierra. I am doing a one hit wonders special on Wednesday. angeleyes25 4-16-02, 05:12 PM The only ones I remember is Just The Two Of Us and Greatest American Hero and Greatest American Hero I like better.I like the version that Will Smith made better of Just the two of us than the orginal. djdaffy1227 4-16-02, 05:34 PM As for Steve's reply, Dottie West was a one hit-wonder on the pop charts, she never scored another top 40 pop hit in the US, even though she was big on the country charts teaming with Kenny Rogers. Iluvthe80s 4-16-02, 05:36 PM I remember all of them except Lee Ritenour & Tierra. Greenway88 4-17-02, 08:32 AM Originally posted by djdaffy1227 Ooh, ooh, I knew them all :D My favorite is "Together" by Tierra. I am doing a one hit wonders special on Wednesday. Isn't that a great song? My favorite, though, is Balance. space-invader 4-17-02, 10:24 AM Originally posted by Recker Just the Two of Us Greatest American Hero Those are the only ones on that list I recognise! Boggle 4-18-02, 09:07 PM Just like Recker, these were the only two songs on the list I recognized. "Just the Two of Us" would have to be my favorite of the two I recognized. Sheibub 4-20-02, 10:06 PM I only know 3 of those, unless of course I can hear them!!! Greatest American Hero!!! :D Terri Gibbs I only heard again recently..... BlitzKid 4-22-02, 09:18 AM Just the two of us is a song that was used for a German coffee TV commercial so i heard it quiet often. :) But my favourite of that list is Greatest American Hero, such a nice song!! Roemello 4-22-02, 09:35 AM Just the Two of Us, Great American Hero and Together is all I recognize off hand....probably recognize more if I heard clips, but the title's aren't ringing any bells :p Dancingdoll1986 4-22-02, 10:21 AM I remembered the first 3 and then #5. By the by, speaking of The Greatest American Hero, rumor is that they (they being the mystery men and women of Hollywood) are planning on making a movie based on the t.v. show. I suppose I will just have to check it out if they do! TJ 4-29-02, 08:25 PM I knew all but Tierra and Lee Ritenour. Johnny Z 4-29-02, 09:02 PM I recognized 1, 2, and 4. Some of the others ring a bell, but I can't place a tune to the title or artist. ImSoooSure 5-07-02, 01:26 AM Greatest American hero was my favorite on that list. I recognized all but 3. Didn't John Schneider have atleast 2 hits? Although on country charts I'm sure. Femmetal 6-02-02, 10:39 PM Theme From 'Greatest American Hero' is my favorite. Only know 1/2 of them, are most country artists? That would account for my not knowing them  Pippi 6-02-02, 11:37 PM I only knew two of them. Just The Two Of Us and Don't Stop The Music. Greenway88 6-03-02, 10:26 AM Originally posted by ImSoooSure Greatest American hero was my favorite on that list. I recognized all but 3. Didn't John Schneider have atleast 2 hits? Although on country charts I'm sure. He had three others make the hot 100, but no others made the top 40: Dreamin' Still In The Drivers Seat Mookie 6-14-02, 10:37 AM Yikes. I did better with the list from 1980. Again, I would swear some of these songs were older, especially the Lee Ritenour song (I still remember hunting down Ritenour albums with my dad). So besides "Is It You" I also recognized "Just the Two of Us," "Greatest American Hero," "Somebody's Knockin'" (I should remember that one, I still have the 45), "It's Now or Never," and "Breaking Away." Prefab Sprouter 6-18-02, 04:28 AM Just the 2 of us ............Did Bill Withers sing this at any stage??? GReatest American Hero....loved the song; hated the programme! djdaffy1227 7-03-02, 05:55 PM Just the two of us was Grover Washington Jr. with Bill Withers. Bill actually sang the vocals on it. Flix 7-04-02, 11:26 AM I only knew three of the ten. You really did some digging there Greenway. eaglewoodvigil 3-22-04, 02:21 AM I recognize the title and artist of all that were listed. However, I only remember the tune for 4 of them and I only have 2 favorites here. Favorites here are: Just The Two of Us -- Grover Washington, Jr. & Bill Withers Theme from Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not) -- Joey Scarbury whistledog 10-17-04, 02:22 PM I remember all of those songs It's funny, for the longest time, i used to think Terri Gibbs was a man. I never could tell  HouTexGurl 10-17-04, 02:26 PM I can only remember one of them. :( Joey Scarbury - Theme From 'Greatest American Hero' Ayla 10-17-04, 05:59 PM There were a few I didnt recognize on this list. JS 11-14-04, 05:14 PM I remember at least three of them: Just The Two Of Us, Believe It Or Not and Don't Stop The Music. Nikki_91 11-25-04, 08:25 PM Don't Stop The music..that was my vote..I don't remember too much off this list. bookmistres4ever 12-27-04, 08:08 PM I remembered a few, Greatest American Hero (used to love that silly show when I was a kid), Just the two of us (and I even liked the other version of it done by Will Smith), Somebody's watching (I used to have the 45 of this one, way back when), and Dottie West (http://bgagner.juliegates.net/dottie.html) (Boy did *she* have a hard life, poor lady), I remember John Schneider doing stuff, but just don't remember the song now. My dad used to have a "Dukes of Hazard soundtrack for his 8-track player in the car and we'd have to listen to it wherever the family went. Tanya1976 12-29-04, 03:22 PM I remember Just the Two of Us b/c that's one of my fave songs and the theme from The Greatest American Hero b/c I watched that song as a kid! Poindexter 5-03-05, 10:54 AM WOW! I didn't do to well on this one and I listened to the radio alot in 1981, so maybe if I heard the others I would recall them. I remember Grover, Joey Scarbury, John Schneider, Yarbrough & Peoples and Balance. I don't usually like ballads, but Just The Two Of Us was pretty good. The rest I recall as being so-so. walvis 5-29-05, 03:01 PM Only 2 of this lot. Just the Two of Us and Don't Stop the Music, both great tunes. |
