I got this from Hard Radio.com

According to MelodicRock.com, The Sam And Dave Tour, featuring SAMMY HAGAR and DAVID LEE ROTH, is a go. 25 dates have been booked across the US, with the first show happening on May 29th at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Hagar and Roth will hold a joint press conference in Los Angeles on April 16th. It is hoped that another 20 dates will be added to the itinerary. The joint headlining tour will featuring each artist alternating the opening slot each night and will feature the two of them jamming for the nightly encore. It wouldn't be out of the question to see VAN HALEN's Michael Anthony also appear on stage during the encore on a few occasions.

I have to go see this show! :thumb:

Thank you, Taz, for the information. That should be an interesting show. I like both of them but I just can't see them performing together.

Wow, what a hoot!!! I'm sure this tour is going to be outrageous! I wonder how many fights will erupt in the crowd between people who think Diamond Dave was the best lead singer and those that preferred Sammy?

I bet your wiggles would make MANY a man here happy. But I digress. ANYHOW, here is a quote from Sammy Hagar, when he was asked how he thought Eddie and Alex VH would react to the tour:

"Them ****ers smoked a carton of cigarettes and drank a case of beer, I guarantee it, before one word was said. They looked at each other and Ed went, '****, Al, what are we going to do?' And Al went, 'I don't know Ed, lemme think about it.'"

I guess I must be the outcast here  I won't go see the tour... if you PAID me to go, I would.. but these guys as solo acts? Yuk! :yucky: I enjoyed Sammy BEFORE Van Halen.. but his latest efforts have been a drunkenfest, poor performances and mediocre songs... (I've seen enough of his latest free concerts on Pay-per-view channels)... also Dave's solo projects have sucked as well.. worse than Sammy's!!

I think that Eddie and Alex are probably thinking... "These guys are jackasses... let's watch them make fools of themselves and laugh our asses off"

Twenty bucks says that the tour ends shortly after it starts.. be ready to contact Ticketmaster for your refunds.

Actually Tinajo, I would say that Daves show will rock. He is playing about 95% of his era VH songs, while Sammy has said he will probably do a 50/50 split. I am going to Peoria to see it, since I have to work while they are here in ST Louis.
