Very sad news indeed! :( I grew up watching Robert Urich on "Vegas", "Spenser For Hire" and more recently "The New Love Boat", he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.

Very sad... to hear someone loosing the battle to this unforgiving disease. I just hope someday they will find a cure. :(

Oh, that is so sad! I, too, thought that his cancer was in remission. He starred in countless tv series over the years and I've recently seen him in ads for a brand of dog food.

 Urich was always one of my favourite actors, so it was sad when I heard he had cancer. Even sadder that he is now dead. Loved him in Vegas and thought he was doing ok when I saw him on the New Love Boat. Here is an actor who will be sorely missed.

I got the impression he was a decent guy in real life too.

Anyone remember him in the starring role of "Ice Pirates" a comedy from the 80s? I thought that was a great movie. Don't know what I'd think of it now though.

"The Ice Pirates" was awesome!

It's airing on Starz! today, for those Urich fans in the states. It's airing at 10:20 AM Eastern, I believe, and it might play again in the evening. I'll watch it in memory of Mr. Urich.

Spenser has been hired by God...May Robert rest in peace.

Sincerely,

John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

Wow, thats sad news. I thought his cancer was in remission and he was doing really good. My dad died from lung cancer also on this date two years ago. Well Robert Urich is in a better place now with no pain.

Robert Urich is probably the most famous person ever to come from my town(Toronto, OH). It is very sad. A few years back he attended our all school reunion and purchased the fireworks for a nice display. In the early 80's on Johnny Carson when asked where he was from trying to joke around He made the comment "Oh just some little sess pool along the Ohio River." This angered just about everyone in town. He heard about that one and realizing the mistake he had made Robert began making it up. Over the years he mentioned his birth place quite a few times and how he was proud of where he was from and the town once again embrased him. There are two main entrences to town the one on the North Side Is "Robert Urich Interchange" Mr. Urich still has family here. I have not yet heard if there is going to be any kind of ceremony, but everyone here knows that we have lost one of our best.

Dan Tanna was just a cool character. I always thought he was a great actor and thought he would just be a cool guy to know. Rest well.
