With a limitation of 10 choices, this selection will not be complete as larger, more recent compilation CDs have more songs.
But I voted for "Bop 'Til You Drop" because of the electronic sounds and that you can dance to it.

I'm with you Steve, Bop til You Drop is the best. I also like State of the Heart and Celebrate Youth.

I was suprised at how hard it was to choose, those are all great songs :)

I went with the Sammy Hagar penned "I've done everything for you".

Does anyone remember the silly song he did called "Bruce" about how everyone got him mixed up with Bruce Springsteen

Yeah Daffy, that was actually pretty good. I sometimes hear it on Flashback Radio.

Tough poll on this one. I voted for "Jessie's Girl" But my vote could have easily went to "bop to you drop", "human touch" or any other of his songs.

Sorry buddy, but with only 10 selections available, only songs on the original (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1751343172/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=SPRINGFIELD*RICK/itemid=329468) U.S. greatest hits made the choice.
"Celebrate Youth" was eliminated because it was just about Rick giving birth to his first son and "Rock Of Life" was eliminated because it clearly shows Rick was declining and personally, I don't even know why it is on any compilation whatsoever.
Hey, I played fair; my favorite Living In Oz (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1751343172/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=SPRINGFIELD*RICK/itemid=486584), didn't make the selection either.

But on most of the polls..we have the choice of "other"...I would have voted for SOULS also.

CELEBRATE YOUTH was about RICK GIVING BIRTH? Excuse me while I go tell my husband that he gets to do the next one then! LOL......gee, wonder what I was thinking when I gave birth to the first three? :)

OK,OK....my choice would have to be between "I've done everything for you" and "Bop till you drop" <<<<(had a good video with it)

I'm actually surprised Steve that you had trouble limiting this poll to ten! I only recognise two songs off that list!

Springfield was better known for his TV career wasn't he? :D

I'm not sure, but I think Rick was more widely known for his singing career, at least here in the States. Aside from his role as Dr. Noah Drake on the soap opera General Hospital, he only had a few other starring roles in a couple of movies that didn't exactly become box office smashes. His musical career, on the other hand, was far more successful for him here, as he had quite a few Top 20 hits and sold millions of albums.

Jesse's Girl of course. Probably the best song Rick did.

for all the earlier top 40 hits that i like, 'state of the heart' still is my favorite. very different from the more well known hits.

'what kind of fool am i' is, i think, his most killer tune. i can remember that one being the #1 on the nightly call-in top 5 for weeks on end before it had more mainstream exposure. they somehow had it on only 1 station prior to its release. i didn't even know the title... it was just...."here again, for the 17th night in a row at #1, Rick Springfield....."

"...shuffled, when they should have cut" HAS to be the most awkward lyric for a teen, slow-dancing-humpme tune
