Hi there. And welcome to my Corvette web page/site - whatever you want to call it... 1987 Corvette Coupe in Light Pewter Metallic. Z52, G92 Picture Page I bought this car with 54,418 miles on March 26th of 2002 from a local dealer for $9800.00. My younger Brother actually found it for me and when I went to look at it, I loved it. My first few days were full of questions, though. I actually thought about bringing it back. The car had sat for quite some time and needed TLC. After about a week of cleaning it up, adding fuel injector cleaner twice, and giving it some time on the road - things got better. It runs very good and it's very strong. It's a little loud for my taste - Flowmaster exhaust, but it's growing on me. My first objective is to get the car running perfect. Next comes making sure everything works. Then comes restoring the interior. After that, I'll work on getting this car into the 12's for the quarter mile. I'll have that accomplished by Summer 2003. After that, I'll paint it. It was originally Grey but has been repainted Pewter. So far I've considered Red, White, Admiral Blue, Charcoal, Yellow, and Black. I wonder what I'll end up with... Work done so far: 03.24.02 through 03.30.02 - Added fuel injector cleaner twice during this week. Improved idle, eliminated "check engine light", and no more stalling. ~$10.00 03.31.02 (Yes, Easter Sunday) - Had two door keys made as my car did not come with them. $162.75 04.03.02 - Tightened headlight covers and replaced passenger side brackets. Professional's Choice Auto Body Inc gave me the brackets for free. $0.00 04.05.02 - Corvette Connection replaced starter (Delco) $175.22 (Note: Pep Boys wanted almost $500.00 for this job.) 04.06.02 - Pep Boys checked the brakes and said they were fine. $16.26 04.09.02 - Corvettes Unlimited checked brakes and said they were fine. $0.00 04.09.02 - Purchased front license plate cover from Corvettes Unlimited for $47.73 04.10.02 - Dropped my front license plate cover off at Proffesional's Choice Auto Body Inc to have it painted. I got it back the next day. They did a great job. $135.62 04.10.02 - Repaired headliner with 3M spray adhesive. It came out okay. I'll probably replace the headliner in time. ~$6.00 Up and Coming: 04.18.02 - I have an appointment for new front Springs and Bilstein Shocks at Corvettes Unlimited - That should cost me about $800.00 - Oh, I may get a new Harmonic Balancer on this day as well. 05.02.02 - I'll be sending Daves90 from CorvetteForum.com a money order for about $360.00 (includes shipping) for his 1990 stock Corvette rims and tires. These are my choice of rims for this car. If I wanted different rims, I would have bought different rims. See them. I'll have these rims polished - probably before I put them on. POST-DATED CHECK SENT 04.17.02 05.16.02 - I'll be sending White Lightning 89 from CorvetteForum.com a check for $780.00 (includes shipping) for his 1989 stock Corvette Black Sport Leather Seats. See them . 05.30.02 - I should have an appointment for new rear Springs and Bilstein Shocks at Corvettes Unlimited. To Do List: Smooth out idle (probably fuel injectors) |
