Since I recently bought an old Nintendo Entertainment System. I want to know what games I should pay good money for and what games I should avoid altogether.
I know the Super Mario Bros. and Donkey kong stuff is classic. But I'm looking to buy Snow Brothers and original Blues Brothers game. So I need the lowdown on those, as well.
Don't know about those games, but my favorite original NES game is Smash TV. It's sort of like Robotron - you enter arenas and you can go up, down, left or right and shoot at a wide variety of foes. You eventually end up facing the twin snakes, and they are ever so hard! Once you're past them there are about four arenas left, but they're really not that much harder than some of the more difficult one's in earlier levels.
I remember the first time I made it past the snakes - I was so hyped I had to drink a beer before continuing!

There's plenty that's good...plenty that sucks too If you want an opinion of something in particular, I'll distinguish if I've played it My personal favorite is 'The Legend of Zelda' 'Zelda II' is pretty fun too. The Mega Man series (especially 1-3), Final Fantasy (the original...don't bother with the NES sequels ), the CastleVania series...just to start
It really all depends what kinda games you like though...
These were the three games I had for my Game Boy, which I got around 1995. I always laugh when I hear people talking about their XBox/Dreamcast/whatever the latest is now, because I still have and use my pea-green screen Game Boy!

I hardly remember the games, we sold my original nintendo right when SNES came out (1991, I think) to pay for SNES which was $200 at the time.
Oh and Zelda was good of course, everyone loves zelda. One game I didn't like, was those donkey kong ones.

In addition to the Zelda series, I've always enjoyed the Castlevania series. For two-player games, my favorites have to be Battletoads/Double Dragon and Caveman Games (lots of button-mashing on this game). Both of these games are fun and can be hillarious
