Now, if you were a big dance fan of the late 80's - you can't forget what they played late night, afterhours, at the night clubs and on the radio. By 1988 house was the hottest thing going in the dance community. An massive rythmn with a style all it's own...
I remember house music but couldn't even begin to name any artists....I do have tons of tapes from back then somewhere..my brother was big into house music...and he used to steal my tapes after I went through the trouble to sit by the radio and tape the good songs! LOL
I would love to tell you about the tapes..in fact I'd even send them to you..BUT..the unfortunate thing is I have not seen them in over ten years!! I would hope they still exist somewhere in my parents house or my brothers house.....but who knows. For all I know my brother probably taped over them after he changed music styles. I used to tape off a station called 92 Pro FM...they had a special show dedicated entirely to house music...it was pretty cool back then.
I have dozens of cassettes from late night house music parties aired on Chicaago radio stations from the late 80's and early 90's. Awesome music, I miss those times. I am a Dj now and I am trying to bring that sound back to the Phoenix, AZ area now. If anyone remembers any artists from that era, like Fast Eddie, Mr. Lee, White Night or any others please respond and let me know.
