Lightbulb Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany

We were having a discussion at work regarding Teen singers right now. (Particularly, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera) I kind of compared them to Debbie and Tiffany. Which one would you have voted for back in the Teen Singer catagory? I mean, if you had to choose between Debbie Gibson or Tiffany, which one had more talent?

Geez. I dunno! This is a cool question.. Do you think you could post some song titles from each? This could make an interesting topic... In fact, I think I will post this as a link on the front page...

I think I would have to say Debbie Gibson too. But I did like them both. Debbie Gibson actually went to school near me.

Debbie Gibson songs got alot of airplay: Only In My Dreams (My?), Shake Your Love, and Electric Youth.

On the other hand, Tiffany's I Think We're Alone Now was her only BIG hit (around here) and it was a remake.. So...

Anyways, the moderator spot is opened. If you'd like it, Nikki91, just let me know.

Wow! I have an Australian realease 80's pop magazine that I have held onto all these years from the Deb/Tiff era that features a rather strangely polled 'The Hottest Women On Earth'which is depicted by it's readers - and the lovely Debbie Gibson comes in at No#3 WOW! - poor old Tiff doesn't even get a mention. The poll really had nothing to do with the music side of it at all. Personally, musically I think Debbie was better - she could also dance pretty well as I remember

Geez. I don't know if I remember her being THAT popular! hehe Wow. She was considered one of the 'dirtbags' (the actual word used) in high school. She must have loved being the 3rd hottest woman on earth. hehehe

I hear ya, DokkenFan.. She definatly had some talent.. Not like this INSYNC or Back Street Boys who don't play any instruments at all. Most of the credit should go to THOSE people...

Otherwise. It looks like you're a big 80s fan. Is this the case? If you remember everything so well it's gonna be great to have you around for questions! hehe

Ok..let me reprhase what I said about One hit wonders. They weren't one hitters. Yes, Debbie Gibson was definetly way more talented than Tiffany because she wrote, arranged, sang, and produced the entire "Out of the Blue" album as well as her other albums. (She has released about 7 albums to date..that includes albums that were released in the 90's) Yes, I do agree that Debbie has more talent..I did even see her in concert in the 80's..the Electric Youth tour.

The Electric Youth tour must have been pretty cool. That was at around 87 or 88 right? What a great time in music that was... I had so many favorites.. Remember that? Having favorites all over the place? Nowadays, there are very few new favorites on the radio...

I'm a HUGE Debbie Gibson fan. I never really liked Tiffany. I totally hated her, especially when she started dating Jon Knight of New Kids on the Block.

I think Debbie Gibson, because she wrote most if not all of her own music and also produced her songs. Plus I only know one song by Tiffany, and Debbie had many more hits.

Between the two, I would have to vote for Debbie Gibson. She wrote, produced, and sang her own music. Now that is talent! I like Tiffany as well, but Debbie takes the cake!

@ Cal

I'm going to have to go with Debbie Gibson as being the most talented of the two. She did write and produce her own music and she was 16 years old at the time when she first made her debut in the music industry which impressed me.

Feels like a timewarp with these 3 year old topics I'd have to go with Debbie Gibson hands down Way more tunes I liked from her than Tiffany.
