My Mom is a four foot ten Italian powerhouse that never takes any BS from anyone. She's the strongest woman i know! She's amazing!!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers, fathers who have to be Mr. Moms, expecting Mothers, and future mothers.

I doubt if I'll do anything for my mom. She's going out of town with some people from the church. Rather spend time with them than with her kids I guess. At least that's the impression that my brother and I got...same with her birthday just a couple of weeks ago. We offered to take her to dinner but she refused.

. We had a mothers day tea at the school yesterday. The girls gave me plants and bath salts. One of my daughters got up and sang a duet with a friend of hers and the other recited a poem.

We will probably go out to breakfast or dinner. I always like to spend alot of time doing things with the kids so I hope the weather is nice. Of course..later in the day..I'll go to the cemetary. Sometimes it feels as if Carrie is right there with me.

Thanks Topcat!! My post above was short because I was typing with one hand and holding a fussy baby in the other arm LOL

So... What made my Mom so special? She instilled values in me at a very early age, taught me finances and responsibility in a way that a spoiled teenager could understand so that I was able to get out into the rea world on my own and not have to worry about Mom and Dad supporting me.

I am so thrilled to be a Mom.. although my daughter is just under a month old, she has changed and touched my life forever..

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU ALL!!! It's not an easy job to be a Mom and I respect each and every one of you!

What a great idea for a thread, Milani! (and thanks!) This is my first Mother's Day as an expecting mom. It is pretty fun. And I think the baby kicked me yesterday!

My mother is so special to me. She was a single mom for most of my childhood, and I am still in awe of how much she accomplished with so little. Above all she taught me to be my own person, and how to be a loving parent by example.

Hugs and thank you to all the moms on the xChange! (and the dads too, though we will save your thread for June, eh )

...to all the moms, moms-to-be, and those who have ever had a mom...

My mom has always been a wonderful, trusting friend to me. It's been very hard on her since my dad died, but she's still the matriarchal glue that binds our family together. She just had surgery yesterday but will hopefully be coming home tomorrow. We're all going to descend on her house Sunday and make her Mother's Day dinner, even 'tho she'll be upstairs resting most of the time. She still wants us there to know we still love her. Nothing's going to get in the way of a family dinner when it's up to Mom...not even surgery.

Ian made me a bead necklace that says "MOMMY" when he was in pre-school and I'm sure to wear it every Mother's Day. Last year, Ian was all excited and proud of himself because he got up early and made me breakfast (a Pop-Tart and glass of milk), brought it up to me in bed, handed it to me, then immediately asked if I could get up and fix the rest of them their breakfast.
