What console video game would you make into a movie and what actors/actresses would you choose to play the main role? Games that have been made into cartoons can be counted as well.
I would choose to direct/produce "The Legend of Zelda" as I am always fascinated by the land of Hyrule. The culture of some of their people always fascinates me. The time period setting is also a plus. I would choose Matt Damon to play the role of Link, Sean Connery to play Ganon (or Ganondorf), and Anna Paquin to play Zelda (or Zelda/Sheik).
Many of the top games are probably already on route for the silverscreen....But if I could pick one I'd say MGS or Final Fantasy...Yes I liked the CGI Spirits within, but somehow it lacked the FF feel (or spirit if I may use a pun)....Guess it's because it's next to impossoble to put the story, character involvement and feel of a 100+ hours game into 120 mins....Which BTW probably will be the problem for a lot of games converted to film

Didn't they come out with FF in theaters, or am I remembering wrong? Everytime I walk into the video game store I see some game like FF being displayed on the Sega or PS2. It's neat how they can make a video game look like a movie nowadays I have to agree trying to fit 100+hrs of videogaming into a 2 hour movie would be a daunting task. 3 hrs. maybe? But then again, 3 hrs. is a long time to watch a movie.
As for "Agent Under Fire", have never played it, but have seen parts (the movie) of "Goldeneye". I think Pierce Brosnan would fit the part nicely in a sequel.

Actually Boggle, Final Fantasy: The spirit wirhin is a movie....It's all done in computer graphics by Square (who also make the FF games)....My above complaint above regarding FF: spirits within is about putting 100+ hours of FF gameplay into a 90 mins flik

I think I see where you're getting at....trying to fit the actual gameplay (100+hrs) into a 90 min. movie. I guess that would be almost impossible. I guess the closest thing to fitting the long gameplay into a such short timespan would be to present it in sort of a virtual reality/interactive show-format (Remember the interactive TV show Captain Power?) where the audience "plays" along with the movie.
BTW was FF any good? It looked neat. I would imagine working with computer graphics for a movie would be a very hard but energetic and fun job.

I would choose a better updated version of "Super Mario Bros.", with fantastic special effects and have Stanley Tucci play Mario and Bob Hoskins play Luigi. With the technology of today this film could be so much better than it was! I would also have a younger Miranda Richardson play the princess, the way Miranda looked in the film "Gothic", yeah, that's the ticket!

I have to agree on better version of SMB. I saw the 1993 version with John Leguizamo and Bob Hoskins. It had a good cast and soundtrack but the portrayal of King Koopa was far from he really looks like in the game. Plus the setting for the game was out in left-field. It would be great to cast Bob Hoskins and Dennis Hopper in their respective roles again. How about Danny Wells as Luigi (remember Super Mario Super Show)? Danny Wells made a few appearances on CHiPS, usually as a bad guy.
I've heard the name Miranda Richardson but can't picture what she looks like.

It was alright .... The visuals were stunning, but the story lacked something .... Soemthing like the FF feel (from the games). The voices were just terrible, the actors were too big stars, so it was kind of annoying to hear a voice that didn't belong with a face, if ya know what I mean
