That ROCKs!! Congrats guys!!... and hey Pagan, welcome back from your vaca (a day late and a dollar short...) What a cool thing to return from Disney and have happen!
Well I've kinda gotten back with some of my record industry contacts recently, and Wednesday night I went into the Village to check out some new Alt Rock talent with my girlfriend who used to work for the head of Sire Records (and still has a great "hook" there) and also had worked at Time Warner and has contacts with David Geffen, K-ROCK 92.3 and Viacom...and we are hooked up with an entertainment attorney who wants my friend and I to take promo kits from a few friends for internet airplay--I'll be back in the City checking out those shows late April early May.
I am currently starting to promote unsigned and indie artists on my website (for what it's worth) as are other large internet broadcasters...let me know if you want me to link to your page or put any MP3's up for more exposure. I get lots of hits on my site as I'm in the top 100 Arbitron webcasters. I've also become the RIAA's "whipping girl" per my interview recently in the April 1st NY Times and on Salon.com...and am featured on the RIAA's website as part of the conspiracy against them...all lies...LOL.
They have a scheme which will keep unsigned bands from getting airplay on internet radio (the only major exposure they can get besides non stop touring) and will make exposure to "good" music impossible as they want to shut down webcasting so the big 5 record labels can charge you to listen to streaming audio and then shove all the Britney Spears you never wanted to hear down your throats...under the guise of getting artists more money (what a bunch of crock).
So anyway guys, I probably should have done this via PM, but if I can make it to your May 3rd show at The Chance, I'd love to check you guys out...I'll let ya know. If there is anything I can do at all to further what you guys already got going...PM me. I'm really psyched for you, and after pressing for 11 years to finally be getting launched...it must be so amazing...all the best...
