Question Lucky to get backstage?

Hey Y'all,

Just wondering if any of y'all have ever been lucky enough to get backstage at a concert? Did you get to meet the artist/group?

My first concert was Dexy's Midnight Runners in 1983. My Mom and I went to the concert together. Before the concert, this British lady sitting next to us started a conversation with us. Come to find out, she knew the lead singer personally (Kevin Rowland). She got my Mom and I both backstage after the show and I got an autograph. I still have the autograph to this day.

I've been lucky enough to meet the guys in Slaughter and Winger. Glad that I met Tim Kelly before he passed away. Was such a great guitar player. Met a couple of guys from Extreme. Also met one of the Pointer Sisters when I was younger.

Jazzy.. I got to meet Tim Kelly before he passed away as well..
I met Slaughter in 1992 or 93 I think... Dana Strum told me that he was gonna take me home with him... but my ex-husband (not ex at the time who was there with me wouldn't approve! Jerk! he he heh

The first group I had ever met was Savatage, of course.. growing up in Tampa, Florida just miles from Jon and Criss Oliva's house.. I was pretty young.. about 11, but I played the piano with Jon a few times

Then I met Whitesnake in 1985 (actually, I just met David Coverdale and Tawny Kitaen) It was my 13th birthday.. by the time I went backstage, the rest of the band was nowhere to be found but Dave and Tawny were still there.. got some autographs..

Then Overkill in 1988.. I'm sure everyone has seen my pictures of that event

L.A.Guns in '96 at a club, Jack Russell and Great White in '97..

I feel like I'm leaving someone out... there have been a bunch of death metal artists that I have met when my husband's band opens for them, but honestly.. I have no clue who they were
Glen Benton is one... Chris Barnes sounds familiar

I'm sure I'm leaving someone out.. oh well.. you get the idea!

Great White is one of my favorite bands! I never had the chance to see them in concert. How were they as a person? It's unfortunate Jack Russell left at the end of the year for personal reasons However, I think from reading Great White's website, Jack will have some new tunes sometime.

I've gotten backstage a total of three times, but it was to see the same person, Tori Amos! After the show, we ran around back to where the tour buses were and hung out by the stage door and about 8 of us were allowed backstage to meet with Tori. I was dazed and amazed the first time, my heart was pounding and adrenaline running! I was about to meet someone very important to me. She was beautiful, like a pixie. We talked about her show and a girl confided in her that she has been repeatedly raped by her father and that she needs her help, it was an emotional moment. Tori started RAINN (Rape and Incest National Network). Before all of that went down I got her autograph and told her that I loved her show, I felt like such a geek, I was starstruck!

Hey Boggle! I had seen Great White in concert 4 times throughout the years and the last time was at a local bar.. I've always been a big Great White fan... but they were very cool to hang out with! We drank some beer with them.. Jack talked to me about how he had done some fishinh while he was here in town.. (He's an avid fisherman!)

Very nice guys.. and they did alot of acoustic blues stuff as well as their heavy hitters that night! A night to remember!
