View Full Version : Favourite Air Supply song of the 80s
What was your favourite Air Supply song of the 80s?
They had so many great hits, a poll of nine is not enough, but I chose the ones that scored highest in the US charts.
My favourite is "Making love out of nothing at all". Easily in my top 10 songs of all time. Air Supply were great at coming up with beautiful ballads.
80sTrivia 4-07-02, 07:25 AM I voted for the dramatic and theatrical "Making Love (Out of Nothing At All)". Beautiful and stirring song with amazing lyrics!!! :thumb:
djdaffy1227 4-07-02, 11:46 AM "Two less lonely people in the world". I bought the casette on a trip to Toronto when it was new, now I keep thinking they are Canadian  It also makes me think of Topcat because I played it for her on my show
Iluvthe80s 4-07-02, 12:01 PM "Lost In Love" is my favorite.
You know, Air Supply must be my "guilty pleasure" because I like every song on that list. It's sick, sick, sick I tell you!!!
I voted for "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All." My second would be "Here I Am." I'm glad you put the lyric in there, Recker, because most people confuse that song with "The One That You Love" because of the lyrics. :)
I went with "Even The Nights are Better", though ITA that Air Supply was good at coming up with ballads:)
scott28883 4-07-02, 03:10 PM I voted for "even the nights are better". They sure had alot of great songs. I wonder where they are now.
ImSoooSure 4-07-02, 03:57 PM I voted for The One That You Love. Here I Am is right up there with it though. All their songs are great. There isn't one I don't like either.:)
My favorite has to be "All Out of Love".
angeleyes25 4-07-02, 05:43 PM The one that you love.
That 80z Girl 4-07-02, 09:03 PM Once again, a tough choice, but I went with "All out of love". There was just something about that particular melody that just sticks out in my mind.

When I did the research for this poll I was surprised they had continuously brought out new albums up until most recently 1999. It's a pity that they never had any hits during the 90s.
Greenway88 4-08-02, 05:48 AM Sweet Dreams, definitely
nolanbuc 4-08-02, 06:33 AM Boy, they did have some great songs, but my all time favorite A.S. song was "Power of Love". In case that doesn't ring a bell, it was the same song Celine Dion did a cover of in the 90's.
ANY song with sex in the title has to be good :p
I voted for Making Love Out Of Nothing At All!
Steve Savicki 4-08-02, 06:02 PM available: Every Woman In The World
unavailable "Lonely is the Night" of the 1986 album, "Hearts In Motion" (http://www.airsupplymusic.com/history3.htm)
Unfortunately, the album/CD is deleted and that song is on no compilation available to my knowledge :( .
Funny thing about the unavailable option is that I'd always thini that song was sung by Lisa Lisa (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1183248630/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=LISA+LISA+&+CULT+JAM/itemid=317675).
I voted for "All Out Of Love" a beautiful and sad song, Air Supply's best!!! :thumb:
This was easy. I only know Making love out of nothing, so it got my vote.
Prefab Sprouter 6-10-02, 06:14 PM 2 less lonely people in the world!!
whistledog 9-19-04, 09:09 PM 'The Power of Love (You Are My Lady)'
Air Supply wre the only men brave enough to take on this song and they did an absolutely wonderful job :thumb:
ElectricYouth 9-19-04, 11:01 PM I had to go with "Lost In Love"... it's so airy and light that it draws me in.
stlkev70 9-19-04, 11:13 PM I'm not afraid to admit this but I am a big sap for a good love song. "All out of Love" got my vote as a matter of fact its my favorite loves song period. I met Russell Graham back '00 when he did a concert here because my brother-in-law was doing security for the venue they were at.
COOL BREEZE 9-19-04, 11:38 PM Went with "All Out of Love" with "Lost In Love " a close second!. Reminds me of a girl I liked. I was in Illinois at the time and she was here in Florida. Whenever I would hear the part "What are you thinking of?" I would always wonder what she was doing and thinking at that moment. :)
Even the Nights are Better..............but i used to love Air Supply and still have tons of their cassettes :)
Michelle_TAV 9-20-04, 02:33 AM Uuuuhhh...Air Supply Super Freak <-http://members.shaw.ca/wenpigsfly/smileys/happy/clap3.gif Over here!!!
