There is a story coming up on NBC nightly news about vintage ads. Most of them look like they are from the 80s. It is a story on why they are so popular now. This may have allready aired for most of you since I'm in Calif. It looks interesting!:)

Darn! I missed it. I don't usually watch the NBC News anyway!!! :)
Me too, missed it! I like looking at vintage ad's, they show some on Nickelodeon between shows, they're quite funny to watch now!

Ok, I saw it. It was pretty short. They showed ads anywhere from the 50s to the 90s. They say that consumers have lost faith in things since 9-11, high tech stocks going bad and things like that. Showing vintage ads creates nostalgia and a sense of trust for consumers from that particular time era. Madison Ave. is predicting that we will see a lot more vintage ads in the future. I hope so!:)

It would be cool if they would take vintage ads of products that are still around and mix them in with the current commercials on various networks. I know that TV Land does that with a few retromercials they have. I like watching the old commercials.
Gee, all of this has got me remembering a big commercial from when I was a kid, it's , "Heeeeyyy...Kool Aid!!!" That commercial is still somewhat in it's original form! It brings back fond memories!! :)
