Can't locate the original link, but this guy had a page for his top 10 favorite Transformers, so I am curious, what are your top 10 picks and why? What are the Transformers that make you go into your closet at your mother's and pull out your Transformers?
Remember, you can pick only 10:
Skywarp- Those that remember my first signing on and my cousin who had this one know this would be first in line. Excellent color scheme.
There are many links that emphasize this, but this link (http://home.att.net/~nightwind69/skywarp.htm) seems to give the most detail about it especially when compared to F-15 mates Starscream & Thundercracker. That link also describes Skywarp's humor and how he might actually have been Megatron's favorite jet. That is why I always like to think he was actually Cyclonus.
Mirage- Robot head is last portion of blue in car mode. I often liked to think of Mirage as an Egyptian Transformer as the overall shape of his head and grooves on the side look like a Pharaoh's head piece.
Slag- Love how robot head is inside dinosaur head. This makes him distinguished from the other Dinobots in robot mode.
Seaspray/Scourge With them both being hovercrafts with the fronts as feet/leg portion in robot mode, these 2 can be classified as 1.
I like to think that Scourge was the enhancement of Seaspray due to size increase, and thus more transforming abilities available to him.
Seaspray's propellors are my favorite feature and Scourge's moustache makes him distinguished of all Transformers in robot mode!
Hot Rod Love how spoiler turns up, how his window is transparent plastic instead of paint like the other cars of 1986 and on, and his fancy patterns especially the silver pieces on his sides.
Too bad he didn't have more accessories and shoulder gear like the cars of the previous years.
Tantrum- for the same reasons I like Slag. Robot head in animal mouth area.
Horns make him look like a cyber viking.
Since he has the biggest head of the Predacons in individual form, I often thought he should be the leader.
But of course, why is he even a predacon in the first place? Predacon stands for "prey" which is meat eating and buffalos don't eat meat.
Too bad he didn't have a missle launcher like the Dinobots, especially since he has a sword and guns.
Trypticon- Excellent unique features that distinguish him from any other Transformer:
double guns in mouth
teeth square as opposed to triangle sharp (Trypticon probably can't bite otherwise, he'd bite into his mouth guns and blow himself up)
Rocket pack makes him fast when we're used to thinking of big beasts as strong, but slow (his speed and strength alone should make him better than nemesis Metroplex)
Wheels for battlestation actually blend in on the tail and not look clashy.
Double purple blasters inside feet in dinosaur mode.
Beautiful shade of green.
Sandstorm- Except for his "helmet" in robot mode which make him look like a midget with the engine head, the perfect triple changer.
Astrotrain's crimp in his wings for the train looks unattractive. Same crimp problem with Blitzwings tank treads.
Octane's jumbo jet wings are shaped like the oil tanker sides.
Broadside has skinny calves compared to his big feet and Springer's fronts for both helicopter and car look the same.
Sandstorm looks like he has holes in his upper arms due to how the lower arms and hands come out, but other than that, a perfect triple changer.
Sixshot- Mixing 6 different things make him difficult to look perfect, especially in robot mode. I often wished Sixshot had detachable robot feet like the first jets had detachable fists.
His robot head is also too small for his body as compared to next year's brother, Quickswitch.
But considering what all has to go into a 6-changer, a fine robot.
His color scheme, the same basic ones as Trypticon, green, purple, grey, and white, often made me wonder if they are related, especially in animal modes.
Quake- Okay, the Nebulan guns look unattractive, but the perfect tank in robot mode! He doesn't have this large turret on his back like fellow tanks Brawl, Blitzwing and Warpath's turrent looks like he has a gut gun for a stomach!
The price for Quake having his turrent as arms- an unrotatable turret.
The reward- a perfect flat back unlike Weirdwolf with the wolf head and hind tail area for a hump back.
No crimps in his tank treads like Blitzwing and he has perfect hands unlike Brawl. Perfect feet unlike Warpath.
Weakness is build-up for hole in turret for Targetmaster Nebulan... looks like a lump on his arm.
Quake actually didn't need to be a Targetmaster as his black gun portion fits in his fist just fine. I often think of it as a camera gun... short rectangle with the detachable lens as the gun.
