On this topic, you will vote for your favorite 80's toy trend. This can include action figures, spinoffs of the original toy, or any merchandise manufactured from the original product. Take that in consideration when voting, please. This topic will run for two weeks as always. Voting will end on 4/13/02. Have fun!

I voted for the Rubik's Cube. I still have my original one from the 80's. Never could solve the darn thing.

 This poll could easily have had 25 options more ;)
Nope I'm not complaining (really I'm not :p), but in lack of Star Wars action figure and Game&Watch I chose Transformers...YEAH!!! :D

I was too old to get into the Transformers toys, so I voted for the Rubik's Cube. We had Star Wars action figures as an option, but decided we needed to put a couple of girls toys on the list, at least! :)

As much as I liked He-Man, I'd have to say Transformers were the best toy trend...very innovative and fun :)

There were many rip offs of the Rubik's Cube, but none came as close as the original in popularity. In fact as far as I'm aware, there were no other "popular" versions of it.

I mastered the cube and could get it done in close to two minutes. What a great invention! :)

I voted for the Rubik's Cube! Definitely the ultimate toy craze of the 80's! :D

:p Freak! :p I bet you couldn't have solved my brother's...he pulled the stickers off so he could 'solve' it. LOL!! Then he stole mine and broke it.

Anyway, I voted for the Rubik's Cube. By the time the Cabbage Patch Kid fad hit, I thought I was too old for dolls, and I thought they were overrated and ugly. I KNOW!! GASP!!! Now I think they're so ugly they're cute, but I still don't have one. ;)

I think that from all options given in this poll, nothing else could outrun the Rubik's Cube in popularity and success...it even seems that the Cube is having a minor comeback in Germany right now.

Like Smurf said, there were so many things more which could have been listed here, IŽd like to add Jo-Jo's and Monchichi's (those little rat-sized ape figures...my lil' sis loved em :D).

Another Rubiks Cube freak here also. I still have one and try to figure it out occassionally. I think the most I can get is 3 sides at once. I still try hard to get all sides, but the only way I can get it is like all the others, either pull all the stickers off or pull all the pieces apart and put them back together. One day maybe, when I have more time.

I voted for Rubiks Cube as well. That really says 80s to me.
Wasn't the skate board invented or became popular in the 80s too?

Actually I believe the skateboard was invented in the early 60's by a surfer who wanted something that he could surf on land with. It was very popular in the 80's. I had a few friends who were skaters.

I don't feel so bad now. I see I wasn't the only one who pulled the stickers off my Rubik's Cube. I could never solve the whole thing.

I voted for Rubik's Cube but I remember that the Cabbage Patch Dolls were the hottest thing going for two or three years in 80's.

This was a toss-up for me... I was thinking that Cabbage Patch kids were pretty damn popular too and almost picked them.. but went with my gut and voted for the Cube! And then I scrolled down and holy shit! Almost everyone voted for the cube ;)

I mastered taking it apart and putting it back together.. but I never solved it the correct way
