"Baby Jane" is a close second favorite, but I think "Young Turks" is his best song. 18th Century Brain 3-26-02, 02:46 PM "Baby Jane" is my favorite song by him. It's a shame it doesn't get played more. Roemello 3-26-02, 03:13 PM 'Infatuation' for me....'Forever Young' was a close second though  Recker 3-26-02, 07:29 PM Stewart was one of my favourite solo artists in the 70s, but I didn't go for a lot of his 80s stuff. But "Young Turks" was brilliant! djdaffy1227 3-26-02, 07:32 PM "Young turks" no question! Iluvthe80s 3-26-02, 08:24 PM Hard decision because Rod Stewart has lots of great songs! I voted for "Young Turks". Christine 3-26-02, 09:41 PM I voted for "Forever Young", although my favorite Rod Stewart songs are "Maggie" and "Sailing" (is that the name? it might be called "Rhythm Of My Heart"). I love Rod Stewart's songs. :) JS 3-26-02, 09:43 PM Infatuation :) space-invader 3-27-02, 05:16 AM young turks loved paul hogan's videoclip takeoff of the song!!:D this charming man 3-27-02, 06:36 AM I voted for other as Baby Jane is probably my favourite, but I also liked Every Beat Of My Heart. Jazzmyn 3-28-02, 01:12 PM I went with Young Turks on this one. Just a great song. Think some of his best stuff was done in the 70's though. :) Boggle 3-28-02, 01:16 PM Went with Young Turks. The song has a "run-free" beat and tempo to it. Steve Savicki 3-28-02, 03:05 PM toss up between "Infatuation" & "Love Touch" but chose the latter because I love Holly Knight's works (she {co}wrote "Love Touch". My vote will be like a tribute to her. :) Loved Holly Knight & her band's album Device "22b3"- glad I got the reissue 1996 CD before that too went out of print like the 1986 cassette. Pippi 5-26-02, 09:44 PM Young Turks. This is one of the people I really want a greatest hits cd from. I need to find a good one soon. Femmetal 6-01-02, 05:53 PM I voted "other". My favorite is "People Get Ready" with Jeff Beck! The video was pretty cool too. Sheibub 6-01-02, 11:24 PM Young Turks....Don't like Rod much anyway...:yucky: DC Rebel 6-02-02, 11:28 AM I voted for "Forever Young." I just seem to like that song. I do not understand why though. Love that song, great riff, great horn arrangement. My other favorite 80s RS recording is People Get Ready, with Jeff Beck. Just as a bit of trivia, Rod hates the song Love Touch. Says it's the dumbest song he ever recorded. Canadian80s 7-06-04, 09:35 PM Downtown train ... that song gets me singing and I don't care who's around ! C80's app4dstn 7-07-04, 02:01 PM 1st: my heart can't tell me no 2nd: lost in you 3rd: people get ready probably a 9 way tie for 4th whistledog 7-08-04, 03:11 PM I really liked that Robert Redford movie Legal Eagles so i will choose Love Touch! That song worked so well in that film! I love the video with Rod dancing on the tables in the courtroom. It kind of reminded me of that music video where Billy Joel is throwing 45's around a courtroom and dancing on musical steps  I also liked that version of People Get Ready that Rod did with Jeff Beck. It was a near U.S. Top 40 hit in 1985 Michelle_TAV 7-11-04, 09:13 AM My all time favourite has to be an "other" song - Every beat of my heart. every time I hear it I want to cry  DJ Midas 7-21-04, 09:00 PM Other - "Baby Jane" followed by "Some Guys Have All The Luck", "Infatuation" and "Forever Young". bookmistres4ever 7-21-04, 09:27 PM I really liked the song "My heart can't tell you no." from the album "Out of order" 1988 Tanya1976 2-13-05, 11:19 AM Tonight I'm Yours is my fave. Tanya Harket 2-13-05, 01:35 PM "Young Turks" - then "People get ready" and "Baby Jane" :) walvis 2-13-05, 01:42 PM This is a realy difficult choise to make. I like almost all his 80's songs, but in the end I voted for Passion. http://www.nl.bol.com/intershoproot/thumb/MUSICCOVER/FC/6/2/1/4/7/62147.gif Rhiannon73 2-13-05, 02:06 PM I'll pick Infatuation followed closely by Lost in You. :thumb: Brand1974 2-27-05, 08:12 PM I went with Lost in You, but I completely forgot about Baby Jane when looking at that list. So, Baby Jane is right up there with it. bjacobs 4-06-05, 06:27 PM I went with "Young Turks" although I could never understand why that was the name of the song. Does anyone know why he named the song that? Doesn't it say "Young hearts be free tonight" in the chorus? 80's fanatic 4-09-05, 12:06 AM 'Young Turks' for me Glenn Gulia 6-06-05, 09:56 PM Infatuation STUD 6-21-05, 12:12 AM I don't care much for Rod Stewart, but Love Touch was BY FAR his best. |
