The only Madness song I know is "our house" so I don't have an objective viewpoint on that part of the thread.

As for my favorite UK band of the 80's, it was definitely New Order. To this day, whenever I hear a New Order song, I want to drive to the nearest dance club.

I really loved Skin Deep by The Stranglers, but that one song isn't enough to outvote Ultravox. They just had so many wonderful songs:

I really liked Madness. Who couldn't dance to Baggy Trousers and what was the name of the other one on that LP, Shadow of Fear?
I LOVED Ultravox, their last LP as a band wasn't too hot, but my Rage in Eden LP literally wore out from playing. Wish I could find it on a CD. I loved the Reap The Wild Wind video with the old airplane footage, and Midge Ure's pointed sideburns.

I voted Madness for best band (with Duran Duran coming in close second)

As for the best Madness song.....I really can't make my mind up on that one, but the best Madness vid has to be Cardiac Arrest!!!
