Just wondering if anyone else got this yesterday. I could come to the xchange, log in and read messages. Whenever I tried to post a comment though, I would get a DNS error. It was only here that it happened. I could go to any other site and surf with no problem. Really strange. Anybody else experience this?

What was the exact error? (if you remember) and/or what number was it? It may have just been temporary downtime....pretty much all sites experience that from time to time...

Sounds to me like someone might have been refreshed or possibly rebooting the dns. Also if your isp uses reverse dns and it isn't working, that can cause problems.

Hard to say though. Didn't happen to me.

I have never seen anything like it before. Lasted about a day and a half. There were no error messages, Roem. Just turned over to a blank page. My service has been shoddy ever since the whole Excite deal. Oh, well. It's still broadband. Just have to deal with the flakiness sometimes, I suppose.

Ohhh you were at @home customer? Say no more. I get complaints all the time about them, and I don't even work for any of those losers.

I had a cable modem for 1 year and I have to say, since I began using the internet in 95, @home was the WORST provider I ever had in my life. The #1 worst.

Talk about people who don't have a clue and have no idea how to maintain their hardware.

The problem was likely the dns tables with @home. Clueless people who don't know what they hell they are doing.

Well, if you can believe it, there service has gotten even worse since they struck out on their own. I had a point last week where I was without service for about a day. Still. It is better that the US West DSL I used to have.
