Hey Y'all,

Well it's that time again, a new awards category. This week we'll be dealing in horror...sheer horror!

my vote went to the Howling, I'm not and never was a big horror fan, but I enjoyed the Howling, both the story line and the special effects. I think the howling often gets overlooked due to the popularity of American Werewolf in London that was released shortly after the Howling .Both movies and Altered States all had great make up/ special effects for it's day. Did I just say for it's day?, I'm making 1980 sound like 1880 :)

I voted for the original Friday The 13th movie. It was a great flick and I still enjoy it when I catch it on of the movie channels.

I voted for The Howling also. When the chick turned into the werewolf right on camera and everyone saw it happen on the t.v. I freaked out!:vibrator:

Friday the 13th...arguably the only one that was good horror in it's series :D

Friday the 13th, only one I'd categorize as horror, the rest of the series was splatter IMO, but fun to watch nonetheless

Friday The 13th. Although, that kid saying "redrum" in The Shining spooked me out!!!

I voted for the shining. That movie still gives me the goose bumps when I watch it. I am scared of those twins.

I didn't actually see this until the late 80s, but I thought it was great. One of my favourite Werewolf movies. Original, scarey and great special effects!

Looks like 1980 was a great year for horrors!

Val, gotta agree with you about "The Shining" that "redrum" stuff was one of the creepiest parts of that movie. And the 100s of pages of typing Jack did "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"

I voted for The Howling, after much, much deliberation. This poll was really tough for me, since I love all the movies mentioned. They each had something that stood out for me, and while I love Friday the 13th ALOT, I have a weakness for werewolf flicks. What a year for horror movies! :thumb:

It was a tough year to pick a favorite horror film Foxxy, and I've had to take a day to think about it and I decided to go with "The Shining" though I also love "The Fog" and "Friday The 13th" very much, I have my issues with this film and living in Colorado! Kubrick's best work, besides "Full Metal Jacket", oops Foxxy, sorry! :sneaky:

I voted for John Carpenter's eerie "The Fog". It's just one of those movies that creeps me out when I watch it on cable at about one o'clock in the morning!!!
