View Full Version : Best Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry song? Chasey 3-21-02, 06:07 AM Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry are one of my all time favourite bands. So name your favourite 80's Roxy/Ferry tune! Iluvthe80s 3-21-02, 06:27 AM I voted for "Slave To Love". 80sTrivia 3-21-02, 06:59 AM I voted for the hauntingly beautiful "Slave to Love"; I just love that song! But, I also enjoy "More Than This" and "Avalon" as well! I think Bryan Ferry had one of the most beautiful voices of any era!!! :) this charming man 3-21-02, 07:05 AM I voted "Slave To Love", but my all time favourite is "Let's Stay Together". VioletFoxx 3-21-02, 08:32 AM I voted for More Than This, even though I love Slave To Love and Avalon. More Than This just has some really cool memories attached to it for me. :) Trixter 3-21-02, 09:38 AM "Slave To Love" gets my vote, great song! :thumb: Chasey 3-21-02, 10:15 AM Originally posted by VioletFoxx I voted for More Than This, even though I love Slave To Love and Avalon. More Than This just has some really cool memories attached to it for me. :) Good choice VioletFoxx, that was my choice too! Just about as close to musical perfection as you can get I reckon. Recker 3-21-02, 03:56 PM I remember when I first heard Bryan Ferry on the radio, I couldn't believe how much he sounded like David Bowie. djdaffy1227 3-21-02, 05:23 PM More than this, although I really like "Kiss and tell" for his solo efforts space-invader 3-23-02, 04:58 AM avalon abcmcd 3-23-02, 10:02 PM I love them all, but I voted for "More Than This" because DJ did.:p j/k. I actually never read the replies before I vote. Harket 3-31-02, 11:37 PM I voted for Avalon - but all the other songs are great too. Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry had such a great "mood" in their songs, that just left me dreaming at the time :) Well, they still do when I listen to them ;) Greenway88 4-01-02, 12:17 AM I went with More Than This. I can't believe Kiss and Tell isn't in this poll (only song to make US charts in 80s) Chasey 4-01-02, 12:50 PM Beg pardy about 'Kiss and Tell' being omitted. Only a minor hit for Bryan in the UK chart in 1988, and not as successful as 'Don't Stop The Dance' or 'Slave To Love'. But agreed, a very good song indeed! Guancho 4-02-02, 01:23 AM I've voted "same old scene" (why I've been the only one?); I think the LP "Flesh + Blood" was the best of Roxy Music. My second place is for "Slave to love". I've always considered Bryan Ferry the most "elegant" singer -as a male version of Sade. Steve Savicki 4-02-02, 03:08 PM You forgot the other option! "Do The Strand" was the best followed by "Virginia Plain"! Sure it's 70's music, but their older stuff was the better! Chasey 4-03-02, 04:13 AM I enjoyed the earlier Roxy era with Bryan Eno, but overall was not a real fan of glam-rock. Flix 4-05-02, 10:14 AM Slave To Love got my vote. Bryan Ferry's voice is great no matter what song he sings. Pippi 5-26-02, 09:16 PM I voted for More Than This. Bryan sounds so cool and sexy. :) :) I think Guancho is right when he calls Bryan Ferry the elegant singer, like a male version of Sade. I could not have said that better myself. BlitzKid 6-03-02, 09:51 AM "Oh yeah" is my favourite song, unfortunatley there is no possibility to vote "other". Prefab Sprouter 6-07-02, 06:09 AM Good opinion Guancho - I agree. I voted for my favourite Romantic Song - Avalon! Zel 7-04-02, 01:03 AM Slave to Love :) I like both his solo and Roxy efforts. Greenway88 9-26-03, 08:25 AM Bumping up in honor of Bryan Ferry's birthday. PG 9-26-03, 10:33 AM Out of the choices given, I voted for, "More Than This" with "Slave To Love" coming in second. However, I REALLY love "Like A Hurricane" :) XXX 9-27-03, 02:14 AM "More Than This" whistledog 9-23-04, 06:18 PM More Than This. That song was one of the greatest singles of 1982 :thumb: DJ Midas 9-23-04, 11:57 PM "More Than This" Tanya1976 11-12-04, 11:43 PM More than This Jasper 11-21-04, 02:34 AM Avalon is the only one I know. 80's fanatic 4-09-06, 10:11 PM 'More Than This' |
