Does anyone else here besides me hate to hear the words "test" or "exam?" Do you get test anxiety really bad?

I have an exam tomorrow for my American History class, and I have test anxiety really bad! I've been studying for this exam for about a week now, but I still feel like I'm going to fail it. I'm getting really nervous about it because I've failed the first exam, and I'm pretty sure I'll fail this one and the final one. It really stinks because those exams make up for a big part of our grade in that class, and I feel that I'm going to fail it if I can't pass these exams. .:vibrator: Just a little while ago I was crying over it because I am so nervous.

I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for dealing with test anxiety? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Drink heavily, and hide the answer in your sleeves.

I'm sure you did just fine. Just remember for next time to think positively. It's okay to feel this type of anxiety but it was probably brought on by the reaction you've been made to feel. In other words, some teacher or fellow student may have inadvertantly instilled in your head that this was something to fear. Whenever you know you have a test, start studying. Don't wait until the last minute if you can help it. This is also a cause for anxiety. When it's time to take you test, if you've prepped ahead of time you should feel confident that you'll do well. Take a deep breath and dive in. Answer all the questions you know right off the bat first then go back to the ones you're not 100& sure about (oops sorry no pun intended). As you practice this method you should feel better about taking tests but the feeling may not go away entirely. Okay, I didn't mean for this to be a soap box moment. I'm not nor was I ever a nerd. I promise. Just finally got the swing of things in college. Hopefully it won't take you that long to feel better about test taking. :D

I must say I don't like tests or exams, but I can't say I've been on the verge of tears because of them, now after I receive the grade is a different story!!

You might try some meditation and deep in and out breathing to calm your nerves, that always worked for me. :)

I used to get anxiety when I had to speak in public. I hated it and would totally panic. The breathing Trixter advised is a great idea. It is physically impossible to have an anxiety attack if you are breathing properly. It will relax every part of you. Try checking into proper breathing exercises, I bet it will help. ;)
