Has anyone read this? It's by John Milton, I'm reading it for school, and I'm loving it! I really like how he portrays Hell and Satan, he makes him almost look like a hero but, at the same time he's weak. And the way he portrays God as a Tyrant and he assoiates (sp?) Hell with freedom is very interesting. It's an epic poem, many many pages long. Kinda like the Illiad & The Odessey. :)

Ted, just about everyone who lives in the United States has read Paradise Lost in High School. It is part of required reading, or used to be. I actually read it again for a class in College. I enjoyed it more the second time. If you like this Epic, you should also read Beowulf.

I just finished reading it in my British Literature class...definitely one of the better books to read in "that" course.:goofy:

Our teacher loves to give us the difficult books!

Not here in Mass, They aren't allowed to have anything even mentioning God in it, and public schools would never have something as hard to read as Paradise Lost. Maybe a really good private school though. Even your average purocial (sp?) school around here doesn't have Paradise Lost as part of their required reading. We have crappy schools here, unless your talking about colleges. :p
