Hey Y'all,

Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul, had a string of success in the 80's that she hasn't had since! She also did some great duets with a variety of artists. Which song is your favorite?

Phooey. I meant to vote for the wonderfully happy "Freeway of Love", but I think I accidentally hit "Jumpin' Jack Flash", which is a good song, but I really love "FOL" much better! My next favorite song would be her stirring duet with George Michael, "I Knew You Were Waiting" and then "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves" with the other diva, Annie Lennox! :)

I voted for "Sisters..." because I love Annie Lennox and Aretha ain't too shabby either. :) she is the queen, with 20 #1 R&B hits more than any other R&B artist!

Sorry, can't stand Aretha Franklin and don't like any of her songs, so I didn't vote.

(Yeah I know Trixter "SACRILIGE!!!")

I Knew You Were Waiting with George Michael. George is the man and this song still rocks.

I voted for I Knew You Were Waiting, but I like her other 80s duet 'Through The Storm' with Elton John

Why isn't "Another Night" (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=2096077122/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=FRANKLIN*ARETHA/itemid=328791) on there?
That was on her Greatest Hits. (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=2096077122/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=FRANKLIN*ARETHA/itemid=329029)
Oh well, "Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves"- female duet, uptempo beat and groove you can dance to.
I guess that song is not on her greatest hits so I guess it all balances out. :)

I voted for Sisters are doing it for themselves, because we are!

I like most of what Aretha Franklin does.

I can honestly say I did not like her eighties tunes. I love her songs from the early seventies.

other: call me (I love you.. and I love you, so won't you call me the moment you get there)

no idea who might have done this originally if she was just covering it. it was the opening cut on a best of/collection CD that i had a long time ago.

i think this one is pretty old (60's). i have heard it used in a TV commercial for a wireless or long distance vendor in the 90's.
